MFT August Release Countdown, Day One

Hello everybody—tonight is the night!! MFT’s August Release happens at 9pm Eastern tonight! I had so much fun creating this card! It’s been percolating in my head ever since the mail dies came out in the kit and now it’s reality, LOL! I started by creating my house wall by applying molding paste through English Brick Wall Stencil and after it dried I put the stencil back in place and sponged Brick Red dye ink on the bricks.

Next, I created my door by stamping Gravel Gray card stock with Wood Plank Background and Kraft dye ink. I trimmed it and cut the panels out with Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics. I added the Mail Delivery Die-namics and popped it up on the card base with foam mounting tape—adhering the cut out panels directly to the bricks.



Then I decorated the door with BB Fab-BOO-lous Friends and BB Fab-BOO-lous Friends Die-namics, added the envelope into the mail slot, and Grassy Edges Die-namics across the bottom. I’m seriously loving this card!

Next up is a card with a technique I’ve been meaning to try for a long time—magic slider.



I thought this sentiment was perfect for this interactive card. It was stamped on Essential Speech Bubbles Die-namics and heat embossed. I created a constellation background with Abstract Background and watercolors.



I stamped the image on the acetate with Black Licorice hybrid ink and heat set it—works perfectly! I tried StazOn but I didn’t get a real good image so resorted to the hybrid ink with great results. This view shows it half way between the colored version and the uncolored version.



And here it is completely uncovered, showing the rabbit appearing.

This card was a ton of fun to make, too, so I’m thinking I’ll be doing this again! MFT’s Slider Channel Builder Die-namics makes it a snap!
