OMGosh! This release is so much fun!! My first card tonight literally came to me after I got into bed one night and I KNEW if I didn’t get up and sketch it out I’d have forgotten it by the morning, LOL! So, I got up, went into my craft room and drew it out with notes. To begin, I stamped Sheet Music Background on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with Black Licorice hybrid ink. Then I cut my card front from Ranger Watercolor Paper with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and the center with Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX.

Next I stamped the little holly spray from Hand Lettered Holiday with Black Licorice hybrid ink and the berries with Wild Cherry dye ink, and colored them with a Zig Clean Color Brush Marker. Using this, I marked where my sentiment was going to go on the card front, stamped the sentiment from Handwritten Holiday with Versamark and heat embossed with Rouge Zing! Opaque Embossing Powder. I cut a Black Licorice card stock layer with A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics, matted the holly layer, and popped them both up on the base with foam tape to finish.

For my second card, I revisited those light bulbs again, pairing them with Merry Christmas Circle Frame Die-namics.

This one took a little less actually plotting, although I roughly planned my lines before starting. First, I drew them lightly with pencil, using a Thickers Alignment Guide, then again with a black Copic Multiliner pen. I started with five lines, total, and was moving along just fine when I got a red Copic smear on my paper. I tried to remove it with a blender marker but you could still see it. My DH happened to walk in when I was SO DONE with that and tossed it in the trash. He pulled it out and suggested I add another line of “cord”. I resisted at first but didn’t want to start again so I tried that. OK, so far, so good. And then, I got TWO MORE smears!!! Arrrrgggghhhhh! So, I added yet another cord, LOL! One smear was not going to work with the second new line so I covered it with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen pretty successfully. Goes to show, most times mistakes are salvageable.

After I got all the coloring done, I cut my shaker opening with LLD Circle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics, filled my Circle Shaker Pouch, closed up the back, and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I cut Merry Christmas Circle Frame Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and adhered it in place for the finish. If you look really closely, you might see some little colored Christmas lights *inside* the shaker element :)

And that’s it! I hope I’ve given you some ideas for using YOUR new September goodies in some fun ways. Thanks so much for stopping by…and happy shopping!! And don’t forget that
MFT will be giving away TWO $100 vouchers—to have a chance to win one, be sure to comment on each of the designers’ blogs by end of the day on Thursday, October 5th. The winners will be announced on the MFT Blog on Friday, October 6th. Good luck!!
