Hey, there, and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! It sure is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas and this challenge from Miss Vickie proves it! I love this color combo for Christmas and what a happy inspiration piece she’s chosen!
Inspiration is everywhere if you just open yourself up to it and the inspiration for this piece is no exception. I saw a wall hanging that gave me a jumping off place and I went from there. To begin, I sponged Tumbled Glass Distress ink on some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper, then stamped the foliage and the sentiment from Hand Lettered Holiday Greetings with Versamark and heat embossed with silver detail embossing powder.
Then I stamped the ornament from BB Happy Pawlidays Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink, colored them with Copic markers, added silver pen to the ornament cap, and fussy cut them out. Next I adhered the card front directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base and added the ornaments—some directly and some popped up on foam tape. To finish off I added some retired red Prills to the foliage for berries. I love how this turned out!
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD519 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd519 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, along with our super talented Guest Designer, Caly Person!
