Birthday Wishes–Color Throwdown Challenge #525

Hi everyone, welcome to another Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Jodi is our hostess and she has chosen a neutral color palette based on her awesome inspiration piece.




Am I the only one who misses the chalkboard technique since it's no longer trendy? I do miss it and when I saw these colors I knew it would be perfect for them! So to begin, on Black Licorice card stock, I heat embossed sentiments and images from several sets, then filled in the balloons and banner with a white pencil, which looks so much like chalk! Next I applied some "eraser" Mark's with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and a sponge.



To continue the chalkboard theme, next I cut Stitched Rectangle Frames Die-namics from Kraft card stock, stamped with Wood Plank Background and Milk Chocolate dye ink. I popped that up on foam tape on the chalkboard panel then adhered the whole thing to a Sweet Tooth card stock base for the finish. It was lots of fun to revisit this old favorite technique this week!
