Are You Ready? Two Days Until MFT’s November Release!!

Hi there, welcome to Day Two of MFT’s November Release Countdown! Release is in two days, on November 5th at 10am Eastern, so made a note! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details. Today we’re previewing PI Sassy Skater Stamp Set, PI Sassy Skater Die-namics, Giraffes on Ice Stamp Set, Giraffes on Ice Die-namics, Simple Snowflakes Background Stamp, Believe Die-namics (Previous Free with $60), Impressive Snowflake Die-namics (Hot Foil Die), and Pine Tree Forest Stencil.

I have two cards for you again today—so much goodness this month how could I not??? First up, sweet little PI Sassy Skater along with Simple Snowflakes Background. To begin, I head embossed Simply Snowflakes Background on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with some glittery embossing powder then sponged over it with Stormy Sky Distress Ink at the top and Dusty Concord for the horizon. Next I heat embossed Whimsical Waves Background on Cement Gray card stock with white embossing powder to resemble skate marks on ice. Both were adhered directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

I added Snow Drifts Die-namics, trees from Snowy Hillside Die-namics, and the sentiment, all popped up on foam. The image was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers—PI’s skirt was paper pieced with paper from Petite Plaids Paper Pack—and popped up in the scene with foam tape for the finish. I love this card! I’m stepping out of my comfort zone a little bit here, using different colors as I try to use more Distress Inks for sponging and I’m loving the result!

Next up, another amazing hot foil die—Impressive Snowflake Die-namics!!

For this card I started by doing the hot foil step using silver foil and my Glimmer System. This is just a gorgeous snowflake—almost looks like it has dimension. Once I had done the impression on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, I sponged all over with Wilted Violet Distress ink and added some Black Soot Distress Ink around the perimeter, concentrated in the corners. To give it more texture, I spattered with clean water, Copic Opaque White, and black acrylic ink, allowing to dry well between each.

The sponged panel was adhered to Silver Sparkle card stock then popped up on a Black Licorice card stock base with foam tape after having silver twine tied around in a bow. To finish off I added a sentiment from Bitty Holiday Wishes, heat embossed in silver on Black Licorice card stock cut with Fishtail Flag Trio Die-namics. I think the purple/black/silver combo gives this card a very dramatic effect—love it!
