Surf, Sand, & Sun–MFT June Hits & Highlights Feature

Put on your shades, because the MFT Design Team is shining today! They are bringing the heat with an array of products centering around a HOT theme — Surf, Sand, & Sun. Get inspired with some COOL new ideas using the hottest products available. Let’s dive in!

I think it would be SOOOOOOOOOOO nice to be relaxing in a pool—or the ocean—and soaking up some rays after being shut in for so long, don’t you? I’ll have to keep living vicariously through my cards for a while, though, so I got out this cutie for today’s card.

First, I created my background by doing a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor paper, then spattered it with clean water and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card base after adhering a strip of Fun in the Sun Paper Pad. Next I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up on the card front with foam tape.

The sentiment was heat embossed on a strip of Black Licorice card stock and adhered with foam, as well, for the finish.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you can find some way to relax like this girlie is doing—take good care of yourselves!

Thanks a Bunch–MFT Color Challenge #144

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Lemon Chiffon, Tickled Pink, Ripe Raspberry, Jellybean Green. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I hadn’t had a chance to use the just-released Fine-Lined Floral rubber stamp and I thought it would work well for this color combo. I stamped it on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I “piped” each side with Jellybean Green card stock and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with strips of Black & White Stripes Paper Pad.

The sentiment, from Bitty Thanks & Gratitude Stamp Set was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics and also popped up on foam tape, then finished off with enamel dots.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

It’s Your Birth-Yay–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #495

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I thought I could use Spotlight Sentiments Stamp Set for the strips under the main panel and it worked out pretty well, I think. I stamped it on Kraft card stock with Versamark and separated the lines into the three sketch elements. Next I stamped this image from BB Birth-Yay Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers.

Then I sponged some Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock with Broken China Distress Ink, stamped the sentiment from the set, and popped it up on foam on top of the stamped strips. I added Gumdrop Green card stock cut with Grassy Hills Die-namics and the colored image to complete the scene. I finished off with some matching enamel dots.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

You Are a Rainbow of Wonderful–Color Throwdown Challenge #599

Hey, all, welcome to a brand new
Color Throwdown Challenge! This week our hostess is Miss Vickie and she has a super sweet color combo for us this week.

I thought Rainbow Whimsy Die-namics would be perfect for this challenge. I started by creating my sky background by sponging Berrylicious dye ink on a Sweet Tooth card stock card base with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. Then I added a couple of layers of Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics cut from more Sweet Tooth card stock with a sentiment from Rainbow Greetings Stamp Set stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink. Rainbow Whimsy Die-namics was cut from Tickled Pin, Lemon Drop, Sour Apple, and Berrylicious card stocks, assembled, and popped up on foam.

I added Cute Cloud Outlines Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and finished off with some hearts, cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD599 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd599 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! MFT June Mid-Month Release, Countdown, Day One!

Welcome to the last day of previews for
MFT’s June Mid-month release!! Today we’re previewing Fine-Lined Floral, Coral Flair Background, and Harmonious Hibiscus Background. Release is tomorrow, June 23rd, at 10am Eastern. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration.

I thought the Coral Flair Background looked like shells, which reminded me of those frames you can buy that are covered in shells—know which ones I’m talking about? So, I thought a frame cut out of this background would be pretty cool for a tropical underwater scene. To begin, I stamped the background on Kraft card stock with Versa mark and heat embossed it with clear detail embossing powder. Next I cut out the center, leaving a nice wide frame.

I created a watercolor wash underwater back ground, adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, and popped the frame up on it with foam tape.

The schooling fish were stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink, and the images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and added to the scene with foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed with white detail embossing powder and adhered with foam tape for the finish!

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for MFT’s June Mid-month release!!

Two Days Until MFT June Mid-Month Release

Hi there, and welcome to Day Two of
MFT’s June Mid-month Release countdown! Release is on June 23rd at 10am Eastern so make a note :) Today we’re previewing Floral Fantasy, Corner Blooms, Fanciful Roses Background, and Floating Petals Background. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration from the Design Team.

I’m using Floating Petals Background for this card. Again, I heat embossed the background but this time I did it on Ranger Watercolor paper with clear detail embossing powder and then applied a wash with some Ken Oliver Color Bursts. Once that was dry I splattered with clean water and black acrylic ink. Next I matted the panel with Silver Sparkle card stock and adhered it to a Grape Jelly card stock base with foam tape. Then I cut A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics from Silver Sparkle card stock and popped them up on the card front, lapping one over the other.

Next I cut Lush Lagoon card stock with Little Notes Sentiment Strips and heat embossed a sentiment from Little Birthday Notes Stamp Set with silver detail embossing powder and popped it up on foam. To finish off, I cut Scripty Smile Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and twice from white scraps then adhered them together before popping it up on foam tape as well.

And there you have it for Day Two of MFT’s June Mid-month Release! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the final day of previews.

The Party Has Arrived–MFT June Birthday Project Challenge

It's just not a birthday unless there's a party involved – even if it's of the paper variety! This month, our talented team is sharing projects that feature a party scene — grab a single set, or mix and mingle characters from a variety of collections to create a festive atmosphere perfect for celebrating the lucky birthday boy or girl.

Did you say party???? Nothing says party better than MFT’s Penguin Party Stamp Set and Die-namics! It has all you need! I stamped the penguins, streamers, and balloons using colors (see below) from Over the Rainbow Paper Pad after adding some of the patterned paper to the bottom of a Sweet Tooth Card Stock base. Then I added the card front, with the sentiment stamped on it, on more Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-namics and adhered with foam tape.

After all that was prepped it was just a matter of arranging the stamped elements and adhering them, directly and with foam tape for the finish.

Now, it's your turn. You have until Wednesday, July 15th, at noon EDT to add your link and be eligible for the prize of $50 in MFT Cash to be spent in the MFT boutique. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

And that’s it from me today—thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!
