I Sea It's Your Birthday - Color Throwdown Challenge #652

 

Hey there and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week I'm the hostess and I hope you'll join us! My colors this week are in memory of all our yearly trips to Belize--that didn't happen last year or this. This scene reminds me SO much of where we stay and I couldn't resist a little trip down memory lane. Hopefully next year.

To begin, I cut almost all of the elements in Beach Scene Builder Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor paper then watercolored them with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush. Once dry, I spattered with clean water and more ink and set them aside.

Next, I created my sky using Lazy Day dye ink and Mini Cloud Edges Stencil on Sweet Tooth card stock then adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I added all the watercolored elements, most popped up on foam with a few adhere directly for dimension. The three boats from You Keep Me Afloat Stamp Set were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped up in the scene with foam.

When in Belize, we see a few planes flying by with message banner, which  inspired me to do the same. I cut Banner Flags Die-namics from Sweet Tooth and Kraft card stocks, stamped the sentiment from You Keep Me Afloat Stamp Set, and adhered it with foam for the finish.
