Halfway To the Big Day--Three Days Until MFT's October Release!

Oh my WOW! I absolutely LOVE this vintage design and couldn't WAIT to play with it!! I've always been a sucker for vintage Christmas scenes and this one fills the bill to a "T"! I wanted to created a rustic card design so got out my Ranger Woodgrain card stock for this card.

To begin, though, I stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers. To add more of a vintage feel I covered the whole thing with Clear Wink of Stella, and although you can't really tell from the photo, it shimmers prettily IRL.

Next, using Oval Extraordinaire Negative Stencil and Kraft dye ink, I stenciled the border on the woodgrain card stock, then the positive using Lazy Day dye ink. Since this paper is not smooth there was an ever-so-slight gap between the two colors so to cover that I traced the stencil with a white gel pen--love the narrow mat look it provided!

Next I popped the woodgrain up on Silver Sparkle card stock with foam tape and then adhered both directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. The colored image was popped up on foam tape as was the sentiment, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics.
