My Favorite Things December Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on My Favorite Things' December Blog Hop! If you didn't get here from Bonnie's blog, you've missed a ton of goodness along the way. So head on over to Kim's blog to start at the beginning and work your way back here. If you did get here from Bonnie's, you're in the right place.

Did I mention before that I hate to vacuum? Maybe I did. Once. Or twice. Because. I. Hate. To. Vacuum. REALLY hate it. And I really appreciate that my my sweet husband does all the vacuuming at our house. But he's retired and does lots of other things around the house, too. And he keeps lists. Lists on scraps of paper, lists on pads of paper. Lists everywhere. So, I thought I'd use this new Who's That Girl release called Maid For WTG to alter a little book of lined paper on which he can keep ALL his lists. In one place. Neatly :)

I got this book at Michaels in the dollar bin (love that place, LOL!) and used Cosmo Cricket's The Boyfriend (appropriate, no?) paper to alter it and for the matching card. Here's the set:

My husband came in when I was working on it and asked what I was making. So, I told him, and all he had to say was, "Don't make it look girlie." I had to laugh! OK, so there's a bow on it but it's made with twill--manly enough, don't you think? I also used my Herringbone embossing folder for the strip of vanilla card stock under the twill. Can't get much more manly than herringbone, can you? I stamped the images on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, and colored it with Copic markers, along with a little paper piecing.

Here's a close-up of the book:

Here's a close-up of the card:

And, lest you think it's all work and no play for John, the card is actually a gift card holder, complete with a gift card to his favorite book store, so he can...

...after a hard day of vacuuming ;-)

Thanks for stopping by! Now, hop on over to my wickedly talented friend Kelli's blog. I'm sure she's got something fabulous to show you!

I know I'm forgetting something...now what is it? OH! There's blog candy waiting somewhere along the way ;-) You might want to be sure and leave a comment on each DT member's blog to be sure you'll get a chance to win :)

  8. VERY cute gift card holdaer Barbara - my hubby is happy to do the vacuuming (when he isn't away), he knows how much it hurts my back. I would rather vacuum than mop any day!
