Flourishes New Store Celebration - Day One

Flourishes has been waiting to officially unveil its new home on the web for months and this week we're kicking off five days of fun and games to celebrate the big event! Today's challenge is a bit sketchy – literally. PageMaps.com hostess and Flourishes artist Becky Fleck whipped up a special sketch just for our celebration! Use it for your own creation, link up here on the Flourishes blog and you could walk away the winner of our day one drawing for a goody bag from Flourishes (it's a fun-filled surprise!). If you upload to Splitcoast, please use the keyword FLLCCEL1. You have until Monday, March 15th at 6 PM EST to link up your cards!

Here's the fabulous sketch Becky has for us:

And here's my card using the sketch:

I'm using a newer Flourishes set called Let's Have Tea. This tea pot is actually sitting on a tray, but I wanted just the teapot for this card so I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Classic White card stock, colored it with Copic markers, and cut it out.

I was aiming for a vintage/shabby chic sorta look, so I did some distressing, both with a sanding block and with ink. And, I played around a little with some Distress Inks to make the mottled element. I used a shipping tag, cut off the top portion, and sponged several colors of Distress ink on, then spritzed it with water. The colors blended together and I like the look. It's like your own very subtle patterned paper--I'll be doing more of this. The rest is pretty simple: some lace, some buttons, and some sewing. The sentiment is from Tag Lines--stamped also with Memento rich Cocoa ink.

Thanks for stopping by for the first day of Flourishes new store celebrations! Be sure to check back in tomorrow to see what we have in store for you. And also be sure to check out the rest of today's offerings by visiting these DT and FOFDT blogs--you'll not be disappointed!
