MFT January Teaser, Day One!

Can you believe it's time for MFT teasers again!? No! We're not starting them on the wrong day! Starting this month, we're moving things up a day--teasers start on Fridays and release will be on Tuesdays.

Today we're showing you previews of Clearly Sentimental about Time and More Essential Sentiments (which is designed to work with a brand new, totally awesome Die-namics die--Layered Labels). Before I show you my card, though, here's a few things you need to know:

• Release party is from 8-10pm on January 4th, at the Member Company Forum on SCS.

• The January Guest Designer Contest begins today and ends on Monday, January 3rd at 10 PM EST. The winner will be announced at the release party. Get the deets here.

• Teasers begin today and will be daily through Tuesday, January 4th. Head on over to Kim's blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with for today's teasers. Every day there will be a prize hidden on two of the Creative Team's blog posts. Leaving a comment on every designer's blog post will give you the best chance of winning every day :) Check the MFT blog daily for the winners.

• The January Hop and Shop will begin at 10:00pm January 4th, with the hop also starting at Kim's Blog.

Now for my card. I'm showing you More Essential Sentiments and part of the new Layered Labels Die-namics die. It's designed to mix and match the layers for different looks.

I started off by stamping/cutting four copies of the Flower Silhouetted Die-namics Die and Stamp Set with Memento London Fog ink. I colored one lightly with Copic markers and left the others uncolored, popping the colored one up on pop dots. Then I cut one part of the Layered Labels die, stamped the sentiment from More Essential Sentiments on it, and popped it up on top of some ribbon.

A Year In Review

As 2010 comes to a close, I thought I'd go through the past year's posts and choose one favorite card or project from each month. MFT Wednesday Stamp Club and Design Team Reveal

Lots of stuff going on today! First, it's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Challenge day. Today's challenge is to CELEBRATE. And we have lots to celebrate. To see what I'm talking about, you're gonna want to check out Kim's blog. I'm just sayin'...

I'm using this sweet little PI - Birthday Princess set for my celebration card. The image was stamped on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers and paper pieced, then I added some Glitzy Glitter to her crown. The sentiment is from the set, stamped on patterned paper, punched out with an oval punch, and layered with paper cut with the Textile Rectangle Die-namics die.

Here's the inside, using another sentiment from the set and the Open Scallop Die-namics die--I love this border, too! Other MFT products I used are Whip Cream and Blue Raspberry card stock, and a button from the Chocolate Kiss collection, tied on with some baker's twine that my sweet friend Jody sent me. Love you - FTTC #98

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC98)! This week Betty Wright is our challenge host. Betty is challenging everyone to pearls. You can add individual, colorful, big, small, flourished, or swirl pearls to your cards/projects. We look forward to seeing what you create!

OK, apparently I couldn't let well enough alone and just do pearls ;-) I just had to add some bling, too. That gorgeous swirly pearl and rhinestone flourish is from Prima and it makes my heart sing! Especially with that sweet, sweet heart from the Fanciful Flourishes set on top of it. My base card is Classic Ivory card stock with a strip of glitter all around. I laid down a strip of 1/8" ScorTape all around and sprinkled on my fine glitter. Love that little extra touch, don't you? I got that patterned paper at a craft store and I no longer have the maker's name - sorry. I stamped the flourished heart on Classic Ivory as well, cut it out, and added some glitter around the edge, as well as on the horizontal strip, again using ScorTape. The sentiment is from Tag Lines and I stamped it in gray ink so it would be sorta soft looking.

Miss You

Birdcages seem to be everywhere right now - including this awesome one from MFT's Inspired by - Caged Bird set. I really love this set.

This birdcage is very vintage in style but I put a CAS spin on it for today's card. I limited my color combo to black, white, and blue and kept the layout very simple. I think it's so simple I don't need to go into too many details, but, as always, if you have a question, just shoot me an email and I'll try to answer it.

I stamped the bird cage and the sentiment, which is from PI - Making a List, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the bird in the cage with SU! Baja Breeze. Other MFT products I used are Sweet Tooth, Berrylicious, and Black Licorice card stock.

Papertrey December Blog Hop Challenge

It's been several months since I had a chance to participate in the PTI Blog Hop so I decided to make it a point to join in this month. I just got my December release goodies and I think I tried to use almost all of them on this project, LOL!

Holiday Leftovers

It's that time again for our annual holiday leftovers challenge!  Use scraps of wrapping paper, parts of
holiday cards, recycle gift tags or bits of ribbon on a paper crafting project.  We all have plenty of it laying around after all the holiday excitement and this is your chance to incorporate some of those pretty
little things into an amazing piece of art!

The holiday leftovers on my project are the pieces of gingham ribbon. I received a gift with this ribbon on it and I saved it because I knew it would come in handy - and it did!

All products are PTI except the black Pearl cotton, the ribbon, and the little heart shaped rhinestones. this was a fun project to make and it will look really good hanging on a special Valentine's Day gift :)

Merry Christmas!!!!!

My Merry Christmas card for you is pretty simple. I love this paper--it's by Anna Griffin and I got it from my Secret Santa at work. The sentiment is from MFT's Merry and Bright set, stamped on a Framed Greetings Die-namics die cut and frame stamp, and embellished with some red flat backed pearls.

I used my FAVE Little Open Scallop Strip Die-namics border die for the inside, and another sentiment from Merry and Bright.

Simply Wonderful

Good morning!! Is everyone about ready for Christmas? I can't believe it's only three days away!! 

Today I have a card for MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club challenge. This week is Simply Die-namic. That's right, create a card or project where Die-namics (dies) are the main component. To pay along simply add your Simply Die-namic project to the Splitcoast Galleries using the keyword MFTWSC12222010

For my card, I used Polka Dot Greetings Die-namics Die and Stamp Set for the focal image and Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays for the sentiment. then I added a rose using the Rolled Rose Die-namics die and leaves made from the Sheltering Tree Die-namics die. Other MFT products I used are Whip Cream and Blue Raspberry card stock and a button from the Chocolate Kiss Collection.

I'm sharing a card today that I made a while back but never blogged. I'm thinking with all the extreme weather that's happening in many parts of the world that some sunshine and flowers might be welcome :)

I'm using MFT's Framed Greetings Die-namics frame and die for the focal image. The sentiment is from Clearly Sentimental About Gardens (temporarily out of stock). Other MFT products I used are Fossil, Whip Cream, and Gumdrop Green card stock.

MFT Dies - Not Just For Cards

I may have mentioned that I'm crazy about Christmas. Once. Or twice. So, I put up lots of trees each year and my DH and I have an open house for friends and neighbors. I needed more ornaments for a red and black themed tree and I couldn't find what I wanted. That's never stopped me and it didn't stop me this time :) I simply bought some red matte finished glass balls and added some black snowflakes cut with my Snowflake Trio Die-namics dies and glued them on. I tried several adhesives before I found that SU! Two Way Glue worked the best. I made 12 of these (yeah, that's a whole lotta die cuts to glue on, LOL), but if I was only making one or two, I would seriously bling this baby up!

Next up, one of my trees is an anniversary tree. I have an ornament dated with each year that my DH and I have been married (just celebrated 41) and each year I make an ornament on which I put the number of years. This is this year's ornament. I used the Dainty Doily Die-namics die for the base layer and worked up from there. I did the numbers using the Bling 'Bers cut file and blinged it up! I also use those gold paper frames that you find in the wedding section at craft stores for ornaments. In them I put a piece of paper on which I've typed several important events of the year. It's so interesting to read these and get a small glimpse of history. Since this ornament will only be used one year, I didn't go too overboard with it ;-)
