It’s a Good Day to Be Happy––CTD #302

CTD302_2014jul23

Hi, everyone, and welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m hosting this week and I chose this gorgeous photo of Venice as my inspiration piece. This photo had been enhanced a bit, but I was just in Venice in June and although the colors are not quite like this, I can attest to what a gorgeous city is is. Longing to go back :)

Anyway, I hope you won’t find my colors too intimidating—I was in a let’s-shake-up-the-colors state of mind when I chose these ;-)

So, my card started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I planned out my design, then stamped the sentiment, from Happy Everything, with Steel Gray ink, then cut Happy Die-namics from Steel Gray card stock. Next I cut my balloons, using Balloons STAX Die-namics from Blu Raspberry card stock, Razzle Berry card stock, and Lemon Drop card stock. I stamped the Lemon Drop one with Steel Gray ink and Happy Birthday Background, the Blu Raspberry one with Steel Gray ink and Grid Background, and the Razzle Berry one with Versamark and LLD Jumbo Mod Borders. I added hemp cord strings, popped up the balloons, tied the strings together and adhered the knot, and popped the “happy” die cut up on foam.

Another balloon and another sentiment from Happy Everything was added to the inside.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD302 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our awesome July guest designer, Diane Jaquay!
