Watercolor Thank You–CTD #310

CTD310_2014sep17

Hey, there, it’s time for another
Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Wanda has a gorgeous color combo for us, inspired by her sweet inspiration piece. Remember the new “rules”: we no longer are using Stampin” Up! color names, so as long as you use the colors in the swatch you’re good! For example, this week we’re using light green, aqua, and salmon. Sort of ;-) Also remember that neutrals (black, white, cream, gray, Kraft) are “free” colors as long as they’re not specified in the swatch.

OK, then, I started with a Primitive White Card Stock base, stamped with Burlap Background and Neutral Ink. Then I did a watercolor wash (see my video on that technique HERE) on watercolor paper using Blu Raspberry Refill and Sour Apple Refill. I cut the tree trunk from LJD Out On a Limb from Chocolate Brown Card Stock and popped it up on foam, then cut the circle elements and stamped them with the coordinating images from LJD Out On a Limb with Orange Fizz Ink and Sour Apple Ink, adhering them under the tree branches. The sentiment is from the same set, stamped with Chocolate Brown ink, and popped up on foam. I finished off with some enamel dots.

On the inside, I stamped the tree trunk and the sentiment with Chocolate Brown Ink and Sour Apple Ink.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD310 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!
