MFT October Birthday Project Challenge–Gussie Up Your Gifts

birthdayproject_2018oct18

Cards are critical components of a birthday celebration but don’t forget all the fun ways you can use your birthday-themed stash of stamps and Die-namics to accent gift tags and wraps as well. Create your own patterned paper, add some personality to your gift bags and tags, and even spruce up your envelopes to tie your look together!

So, people have birthdays on or around Christmas, right? I decided to decorate a plain bag and add a coordinating tag for a festive birthday gift for my project this month. I started by creating a Santa suit overlay for the bag using Poppy card stock (one of my FAVORITE MFT reds!), Black Licorice card stock for the belt using Basic Stitch Lines Die-namics and Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Square STAX cut from Gold Shine card stock for the buckle. Some Sweet Tooth felt worked great for the white fur on Santa’s suit.

For the tag, I cut Sweet Tooth card stock using Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics and decorated it with an image from Sassy Santa Stamp Set and Die-namics colored with Copic markers and a sentiment from Santa & Friends Stamp Set. Add some Black & White Basics Paper Pack, Snow Drifts Die-namics and the trees from Mountain High and it was just about done! Some crinkled seam binding and gold cord finished it off.

And that’s it from me! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out what the rest of the team has at the
MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog and we hope you’ll play along!
