Deepest Sympathy - MFT Color Challenge #169

 

Hi all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's color combo: Summer Splash, Tropical Teal, Fire Coral, and Chantilly Cream. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. Beautiful color combo!!! You could go all tropical or like me, a Winter dusk  skyscape :) To begin, I sponged Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with, top to bottom, Tropical Teal, Summer Splash, and Fire Coral dye inks. Once dry, I added some Ranger Mini Glaze and spattered with watered-down white craft paint for the stars. 

I liked the way it blended but it needed something else so I added Wonderful Woods across where my hills were going to go with Extreme Black hybrid ink, stamping one to three times to get the depth of color I wanted.

Next I cut my deep-in-the-shadows hills from Black Licorice card stock with Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics and arranged them in a rolling hill pattern. Once happy with the arrangement, I heat embossed the sentiment, from Deepest Sympathy Stamp Set.

The hills were adhered with foam tape for dimension, popped it all up on a Chantilly Cream card stock base, and it was done.
