And the excitement mounts! One more week 'til our 100th Throwdown celebration!! It's gonna be large, folks, so don't miss it. Next Wednesday, at the Throwdown blog. Be there ;-)
But, back to this week. Danielle chose this week's colors and I love 'em!
And here's what I did with them:
I'm using the Clean & Simple Fall To Sketch #96 for my layout. Base card is PTI Rustic Cream with a layer of Tempting Turquoise on which I scored a frame. The central element was made using a stamp from PTI's Background Basics: Tin Types with Tempting Turquoise ink on Rustic Cream card stock. Then I went back and added tiny brown flat back pearls to each flower center and matted it with Dark Chocolate card stock (it really is brown, although it looks black), then I popped it up on foam tape. The sentiment, from PTI's Everyday Classics, was stamped with Dark Chocolate ink and I added three larger pearls as accents.
Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD99 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Thank you for all that you do - CAS-tastic Wednesday Challenge
Howdy! I've got a CAS-tastic Wednesday challenge for you! This week we have a sketch and we'd love to have you play along! Here's the sketch:
And here's my card:
My card base is MFT Whip Cream card stock. Next there's a layer of Fossil card stock using the Jumbo Scallop Die-namics Die and some paper from Basic Grey's Kraft Basics 6 x 6 pad. I've added a strip of denim from an old pair of DH's jeans (thanks, honey!) and some MFT twill. The sentiment was stamped on some Basic Grey Manilla Basics with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and an image from MFT's Thanks a Bunch set, cut out with a Deckled Edge Nestablities die and popped up on Pop Dots. Finally, I added some buttons from MFT's Earth Girl Collection, tied on with twine.
I hope you'll play along with the CAS-tastic Challenge this week, and don't forget to check out my team mates' creations :)

Love Life - FTTC #73
It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC73)! It's the last Tuesday of the month so we have a challenge host. This month's host is Cindy Coutt's. Cindy is giving us a fruit inspired challenge. You can actually create a card with fruits, use fruity colors, or be inspired by fruit shapes. It will be a cool and refreshing sweet treat whichever choice you decide. We look forward to seeing what you create.
Obviously, I'm still in citrus mode, LOL! I'd never inked up this lemon tree topiary from the Life, Love and Lemons set so I thought I'd give it a go. I actually grew a Meyer lemon in a pot once and got gorgeous fruit from it. Then it became too much trouble and I gave it away. I was amazed at how large the fruit was, though. So, I stamped the image on Classic White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I'm using SCS Sketch Challenge #286 for my layout--just under the wire, LOL! Card construction is simple--just some layers, some ribbon, and some Dew Drops.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Now, check out the rest of the FTTC team and see their take on the "fruity" challenge--then I hope you'll play along with us!
~Supplies~
Stamps: Life, Love and Lemons (Flourishes)
Paper: Classic White card stock (Flourishes); Yoyo Yellow (SU!); Citrus mat stack (K & Co.); Citrus card stock (DCWV)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Pop Dots, ribbon (craft store); Dew Drops; Copic markers; small and medium oval punches (SU!)

Round & Round Bird On a Branch
I have another card using my 2009 Anniversary set from PTI. I love it so I think you might even see it again ;-) I'm using a Hawaiian Shores base and a layer of Stamper's Select White, which I embossed with the Tin Types Impression Plate. Then a layer of Green Boutique patterned paper on which I used my new branch border punch. The focal image was stamped on more white card stock with New Leaf ink, then I stamped the bird again in Hawaiian Shores, cut it out, and paper pieced it on top of the main image bird. I added some blue to the berries with a Sakura glaze pen, added a Hawaiian Shores mat, and popped it up on Pop Dots on top of the New Leaf Satin ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Time For a Date Night
I thought this card would be cute to give to my DH :) I made one of these tent cards several weeks ago and it was lots of fun so I decided to make another one--this one with MFT's What a Day set. The clock was cut out of some patterned paper from the At Home collection by DCWV--all of the patterned paper is from the same collection, actually. The sentiments are stamped on more patterned paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. To accommodate the clock, I had to cut the window out with my largest Classic Oval Nestabilities die and then there was no scalloped die large enough for "trim" around the oval. So, I scrunched up two rows of 3/8" twill around to dress up the opening a little--I tried one row and it looked too skimpy so I added another. I'm not entirely happy with that part but it is what it is ;-) The tent card technique was just perfect for this clock image--I love how it dangles in the opening. Another MFT product I used was Fossil card stock--which is a staple of my card stock collection. Love it!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: What a Day (MFT)
Paper: Fossil card stock (MFT); Blue Bayou (SU!); At Home 12 x 12 pad (DCWV)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Classic Oval Nestabilities, Tag Trio (Spellbinders); twill; Vintage button/Rustic Twin (PTI); ScorTape

Enjoy the ride - Crazy 4 Challenges #43
Mornin' peeps! Today, Mercy has a sketch for us to create with:
Thanks so much for dropping in today! Can't wait to see what you do with this fun sketch!
~Supplies:
Stamps: Everyday Button Bits (PTI)
Paper: Cream Perfect Paper Panels, Fossil and Black Licorice card stock (MFT); Thift Shop (Cosmo Cricket)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories: twill; Vintage buttons, Rustic Twine (PTI); Pop Dots
Fun sketch, right? Right! Here's my card:
I'm using Everyday Button Bits from PTI for my image, stamped on an MFT Cream Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic markers. Patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Thrift Shop and card stock is MFT's Fossil and Black Licorice. My black twill was very hard to get a good picture of--I love how it looks IRL, though. I think this will make a good masculine card and will work for several types of occasions.
Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-) Today is Mercy's last challenge with the team. We'll miss you, Mercy!

All you need is love - Stamp Simply #145
Sharon's got a fabulous Stamp Simply challenge for us this week and here's the inspiration piece:
June 25 - ssnotime145 - A Color Challenge - Color challenges have always been my very favorite. Choosing colors and patterns is my favorite part of the card-making process. Our challenge colors today are YELLOW and GRAY with EITHER White or Ivory as your neutral and adding Black for a little POP is totally OK, too! I'm sure we'll see some stunning creations with this striking color combo!
Well, I of course thought of Cosmo Cricket's Everafter collection when I read yellow and gray! Perfect! Mercy's sketch for this week was sitting on my stamping table just waiting to be used, and I hadn't used my new Verve stamps enough, so a plan was born :)
I used two patterns from the paper collection and So Saffron card stock for the main elements. Next I stamped the flower from Love's Flowers three times on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento London Fog ink and colored the whole flower with leaves, the center petals, and then the very center with Copic markers and cut each element out. Then I stamped the sentiment on some Very Vanilla card stock with PTI Smokey Shadow ink and matted it with So Saffron. All that was left was to do a little sponging, put everything in place, and add a topaz-y rhinestone for the flower center and three pearls, following the sketch. I love this set and I'm really pleased with this card.
So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime145 if you upload to a public forum. And don't forget to check out Sharon's fabulous sample and also the great designs from the Stamp Simply team and leave 'em some love!

Love's Flowers - Color Throwdown #98
Are you ready for another Color Throwdown? I'm hosting this week and these are the colors I picked, inspired by the Cappella collection from Basic Grey.
I love 'em!! And I love that paper! Here's my card:
My card base is Blush Blossom, then I added a couple of patterned paper elements. Then I added a strip of lace and more vintage seam binding--can you tell I'm loving this stuff, LOL? I just got some new Verve stamps so I thought I'd ink one of them up today. I stamped the sentiment, from Love's Flower, on a piece of patterned paper and cut/embossed it with a Labels Ten Nestabilities die. I popped it up on Pop Dots and added some brown flat backed pearls and a new Prima flower to the ribbon. Everything was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and I added some Tattered Roses Distress Ink to the rose, as well. I'm using CPS sketch #172, only flipped.
Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. One person
It's time for another CAS-tastic Challenge! Today's challenge is a color challenge: blue, yellow, and a neutral. Here's my card--I'm using Clean & Simple FTL95 for my layout.
I'm using another new Verve set called One Person. My patterned paper is from Chloe's Closet by Making Memories. I stamped the sentiment on patterned paper and following the sketch, added a scalloped border and some ribbon, then some Prima flowers and a button. I'm not a fan of leafless flowers, LOL, so I added some punched out leaves, even though they're green ;-) I also added some distressing, both with a tool and with ink.
I hope you'll play along with the CAS-tastic Challenge this week, and don't forget to check out my team mates' creations :)

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop
[If you're looking for my FTTC card, please scroll down to the next post. Thanks!]
You've either happened upon Taylored Expressions' second Blast From the Past Blog Hop or you're here from another site on the hop. Whichever, WELCOME, I'm so glad you stopped by!
I've had this Chillax set for a while and hadn't inked it up (I KNOW!), so I pulled it and my Citrus paper pad from K & Co. out for this card. I started out using the supplied inspiration piece but I think I got off track somewhere, LOL!
OK, so it was supposed to *inspire* me and it did inspire me to use my citrus-y colors so I guess it did it's job ;-) Anyway, I stamped the drink glass on a Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers, then cut it out. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of patterned paper and stamped the lime slice a second time, colored it, and popped it up on foam. I tried adding some green Stickles to the lime slices but it covered up my shading so I quickly wiped it off, LOL! Some stitching, some light sponging, and some ribbon finish it off. This was a VERY fun card to make!
Thanks so much for stopping by! And many thanks to Taylor for having me along! Here are the rest of the entries for the hop so go look and leave some love--I'm sure there will be lots of fabulousness and inspiration to see!

The road to a friend's house...
It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC72)! This week Silke Ledlow is hosting. She is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there's not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good luck!!! We cannot wait to see what you do with it!
Fabulous sketch, right?! Silke really rocked this one--I love it! And here's my card:
I used a set I'd never inked up before--this image fit that long oval perfectly! The set is Cottage Home. I stamped the image on Classic White card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils. Then I cut/embossed it with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and matted it with a scalloped layer. I added some lace to the sketch panels and some of my new fave vintage seam binding and a button. The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper (all patterned paper on this card is from the Victorian pad by 7 Gypsies), punched out with an oval punch and popped up on Pop Dots. All edges were sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Now, check out the rest of the FTTC team and see their take on the sketch--then I hope you'll play along with us!

The sky is the limit
I'm finally getting around to using PTI's Up, Up and Away. I've seen SO many gorgeous cards made with this set that I was intimidated to give it a whirl, but I'm glad I pushed myself because I love how it turned out!! I really love the sky scenes I've seen with the set and I wanted to do one so here's my version :)
Base card is PTI Rustic White with Spring Rain Bitty Dot Basics for the sky. I used Kraft, Ripe Avocado, and Simply Chartreuse for the "landscape" elements--I just cut them out free hand--and MFT's Cloud Die-namics die to cut the clouds from PTI felt. I stamped the balloon images on a Perfect Paper Panel (always my go to paper for Copic coloring), colored them with Copic markers and cut them out. I didn't get the balloon dies because I don't mind cutting and I figured I wouldn't be cutting these out every day so I bought stamps instead of dies ;-) The sentiment is from the set and I used Orange Zest ribbon and a Simply Chartreuse Vintage button for accents.
Thanks for stopping by today! It's going to be a scorcher here today but at least we FINALLY got our AC back on Friday. Almost two weeks to get this thing fixed is just wrong, LOL!

Birthday Flower - Crazy 4 Challenges #42
It's Crazy 4 Challenges day! Today, Mercy has challenged us to use paper flowers on our cards. See the C4C blog for all the deets.
Well, since I love these little paper flowers it really wasn't much of a challenge for me ;-) I got out my old book, punched out some scalloped circles and made my poofy flower. Pretty much everything else can be found at PTI. The card base is Kraft, with the bottom corners rounded, and a layer of Rustic White. The stamped leaf image is from Turning a New Leaf and is stamped on Rustic White with Crushed Olive Distress Ink and matted with Simply Chartreuse with the bottom edge punched. I added a piece of Aqua Mist satin ribbon and an Aqua Mist Vintage Button to the flower center. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom and added some Simply Chartreuse felt leaves that I cut out free hand to the flower. Super simple but I love how it turned out.
We've had a couple of changes in the design team. See the C4C blog for details.
Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)

Here to give you a lift - Stamp Simply #144
It's Stamp Simply time and this week I *did* stamp simply! Sharon has a sketch for us this week--you can see it at her blog and here's what she says:
June 18 - ssnotime144 - A Sketch Challenge - Today I've prepared a simple sketch for you to follow. Go CAS or fancy it up as much as you like, just use this basic sketch. Have fun and can't wait to see all your creations!
I decided to go sorta CAS. My base card is PTI's Rustic White (I love this and the Rustic Cream--just a little interest and not so stark as plain white or cream). My next element is a piece of Simply Chartreuse card stock stamped with Polka Dot Basics and Simply Chartreuse ink. The blue element uses Bitty Dot Basics with the balloon trio from Everyday Button Bits stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, as is the sentiment. My cloud is made with MFT's Clouds Die-namics die using PTI's felt and the sun with MFT's Sunshine Die-namics die using more Bitty Dot Basics. Ribbon is Summer Sunrise satin and buttons are PTI Vintage buttons. Hope you like it as much as I do!
So, now it's your turn. Come along and play and take us up on the challenge--we'd love to see what you come up with. If you do, be sure to leave the link to your project on Sharon's blog using Mr. Linky. Please use the keyword ssnotime144 if you upload to a public forum. Vintage Lily Of the Valley
This week's Papertrey Chicks challenge is another design team member CASE challenge. Cari chose this card by Debbie Olson for us to CASE:
And here's my card:
I love Debbie's classic style, which often goes to vintage--which I love--so I chose to go more vintage-y with mine. First, I utilized some Websters Pages patterned paper for my base and let the design work for me instead of stamping a design. I did use the same Nestabilities dies, but instead of stamping text, I used a page from my trusty old book. I used the Lily of the Valley set instead of Sweet Peas and finished up with twill and a button. Base card is Kraft.
Thanks for stopping by! I'll have a Stamp Simply challenge for you bright and early tomorrow--hope to see you back then!
~Supplies~
Stamps: Year of Flowers: Lily of the Valley (PTI)
Paper: Kraft (PTI); Perfect Paper Panel (MFT); Websters Pages
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Vintage Touch Tea Dye (PTI)
Accessories: Cuttlebug (Provocraft); Labels One Nestabilities (Spellbinders); twill; distressing too (Ranger); Vintage button/twine (PTI); Copic markers; Prismacolor pencils/OMS/blending stumps

I spell Hero DAD
[If you're looking for my MFT VIP blog hop card, please scroll down to the next post. Thanks!]
Ready for another Color Throwdown!? How about a CAS-tastic Challenge, too? I've got 'em today for you. Broni is our CTD host today and here are the colors she chose:
And, the CAS-tastic challenge for today is to make a Father's day card.
I'm using Mojo Monday Sketch 143 for my layout and I'm fudging a little on the colors. I hope Broni won't send the color police after me ;-) I love this Basic Grey Boxer paper for masculine cards and these colors are very close. I made my "blue ribbon" with My Favorite Things' new Sunshine Die-namics die and punched out the center with a 1 1/4" punch after stamping the sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Fathers. The letters spelling dad are from a Tim Holtz Grungeboard set of alphabets I have and I colored them with Shabby Shutters Distress ink. The twill is new at MFT, as well. I really wanted to add some brads and stuff, but I was trying to keep it, if not really CAS, then not too busy ;-)
Here's the inside:
Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD97 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

MFT VIP Blog Hop
OK, it's that time of the month! Time for My Favorite Things' VIP Blog Hop! If you got here by chance, you might want to head over to Kim's blog 'cause that's where it all starts. If you got here from the fabulous Sherrie's blog, you're right on track.
The VIP package is a ONE DAY ONLY product (will be available through June 16th at 11:59 PM EST), that gives you the opportunity to purchase the WTG set THREE WEEKS early. Here are the details about the VIP Kit:
Can you say FABULOUS???
So, when I first laid eyes on this set I squealed--literally! I'm all about gardening and all of my garden is in raised beds. How cool! I love it! I stamped the image on a Perfect Paper Panel and colored it with Copic markers for the most part--her shirt is paper pieced. I made some grass with the Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics die (LOVE it) and every garden needs some sunshine, of course, so I added a sun using the Sunshine Die-namics die. Other MFT products I used are the Earth Girl button collection (yes, it has wooden buttons in the mix!) and Gumdrop Green, Fossil, and Red Hot card stocks.
Here's the inside:
Both of the sentiments I used are from the Green Thumb mini set and the patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety--a PERFECT match for this set.
So, thanks for stopping by, now you need to hop on over to the AWESOMELY TALENTED Melody (Blogger's not letting me update the link, so here it is: http://apapermelody.blogspot.com/) and see what she has--there's bound to be some eye candy for you over there.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #71
It's time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC71)! This week Cindy Haffner is our challenge host and she is challenging us to embossing. There are a lot of different types of embossing options to choose from, such as heat, stencil, plates, folders, scoring, textured die cuts, and more. In addition, there are many different techniques to combined with embossing. You can also use anything from vellum, clear card stock, or other textures for your embossed projects. We would love to see what you all create.
Fun stuff, embossing! I love it! So, I was literally looking around for some inspiration when I saw what the SCS inspiration challenge for this week is: Roses and Teacups. I chose these gorgeous porcelain cameos for my inspiration and SCS Sketch #284 for my layout and I was on my way!
First, I made my "frame". I embossed Flourishes' Damask Background on a piece of patterned paper from K & C0., Madeline 6 x 6 pad. First I stamped it with Encore gold ink then heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder, and cut/embossed with a Scalloped Classic Oval Nestabilities die. The focal image, from A Year In Flowers, Set 2, was stamped on Classic White card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers. A pink moire bow and some gold flat back pearls finish it off. My base card is Soft Suede and each patterned paper element is matted with gold metallic card stock.
Thanks for dropping by today! I hope you'll play along--can't wait to see your embossed creations! Be sure to check out the rest of the FTTC team for inspiration!
