You Are a Flurry of Fun–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #509

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I love creating little scenes inside a space like this so I immediately started looking to see what I could do. I hadn’t used BB Snow Buddies in a while so I decided to give it some love.

First I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. Next I spread some glistening snow embossing paste through Snow Fall – Vertical Stencil on Cement Gray card stock and set it aside to dry.

In the meantime, I cut a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock off the side with A2 Circle STAX and stamped the sentiment on Blu Raspberry card stock and then I started to put things together. To the snowy background I added Snowy Scene Builder Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered them to the back of the die-cut card front with foam tape. The images, as well as the sentiment strip and a strip of Very Merry Patterned Paper for the finish!

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Jumping with Joy for You - Color Throwdown Challenge #613

Hello and welcome to a new
Color Throwdown Challenge!! Broni is our hostess this week and she has chosen some Fall-screaming colors for us to play with!

To keep the Fall vibe going I decided to work with PI Jumping with Joy for You Stamp Set and Die-namics. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers.

Then I sponged the background on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper using Spiced Marmalade and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. I added Stitched Snow Drifts cut from Kraft card stock for grounding, adhered with foam tape after stamping the sentiment.

To finish off, the colored images were popped up on foam to complete the scene.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD613 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd613 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Hello, Fall—MFT Color Challenge #150

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this month’s Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this month’s challenge. All of the details about the challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Well, if these colors don’t scream FALL I don’t know what would, LOL! And since I hadn’t used the recently released Tree Trio Die-namics I thought they would make for a darling Fall snow globe!

I used Classic Snow Globe Die-namics and Classic Snow Globe Shaker Pouches to create my scene on a Natural card stock card front, popped up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base after stamping the sentiment from Autumn Blessing Stamp Set.

I cut Tree Trio from Orange Zest, Sour Apple, Tangy Orange, and Kraft card stocks, adhered them to a Copic air-brushed background and closed it up after added matching sequins and seed beads. The base of the snow globe was cut from a wood sheet and popped up on foam.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Something to Brighten Your Day–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #508

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I was looking through my stuff to see what I could use for this card and spied Artists’ Palette and Brush Die-namics and thought it would work just fine for that center circle. To begin, I created the palette and brush, using wood sheets and then added color with MFT card stock (see colors below). Next I dry embossed a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock with Radiating Rays Stencil for a little background interest and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with a layer of fun foam.

I used Over the Rainbow Paper Pad for the horizontal element and Positively Peppy Paper Pad for the circle element, then popped up the palette on foam tape. The sentiment is from PI You Color My World and was heat embossed on Heavyweight Vellum with Silver Pearl embossing powder and adhered with clear foam tape.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Merry and Bright–Color Throwdown Challenge #612

Hi all and welcome to a brand new
Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m hosting this week so I hope to see lots of you playing along with us!

I wasn’t done with Merry & Bright, MFT’s just released September Card Kit so I decided to use it on this card. To begin, I cut the lights from Tangy Orange, Sno Cone, and Blue Breeze card stocks, covered them all with a coat of clear Wink of Stella, then with a coat of Nuvo Crystal Glaze and set them aside to dry.

Next I dry embossed Sweet Tooth card stock with Radiating Rays Stencil and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I cut the light string from Gold Sparkle card stock and adhered it to the card front along with Merry & Bright Stamp Set heat embossed with Gold Detail embossing powder and cut with Phrase Builders Die-namics, popped up on foam.

Once the lights were dry, I added a Gold Sparkle socket and popped them up on foam as well. To finish off I added some matching sequins.

Here you can see the shimmer from the Wink of Stella.

And here the shine of the Nuvo glaze.

Holiday Wishes—MFT September Card Kit, Merry & Bright, Release!

Are you ready!! It’s time to shop! Merry & Bright, MFT’s September Card Kit is now available for purchase in the MFT Online Boutique!!

My card today is super CAS—I wanted to highlight the gorgeous Holly Berries Die-namics so I gave them the place of honor on the card—front and center! To begin, I cut them from No Line Coloring card stock and colored them with Copic markers.

Once they were colored to my satisfaction, I sponged the edges with Delicata Gold Pigment Ink pretty heavily on the edges and then some in the center with an art brush.

While they were drying (pigment ink takes a while to dry), I created a 4.25” square card base from Sweet Tooth card stock then cut another square panel the same size. Using Stitched Square Die-namics, I cut a window from the center of that, and from Gold Shine card stock I cut a smaller window. I wanted a red mat but since there was no square that size, I used a rectangle die and finessed it. Love the way it turned out!

The sentiment, from Merry & Bright Stamp Set, was stamped on the card base with Wild Cherry dye ink before assembly. Once done, I matted all the layers, popped them up on foam on the base, and adhered the holly leaves, also on foam.

And there you have it for release day for Merry & Bright, MFT’s September card kit. No go shop!!

One Day Until MFT’s September Card Kit, Merry & Bright, is Released!!

Hello and welcome to Day One of
MFT’s September Card Kit, Merry & Bright Countdown! Tomorrow is the day!! Release is at 10am, Eastern, so set your clocks! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration from the Design Team.

Very Merry Paper Pad is gorgeous!! I love non-traditional Christmas colors and this one is chocked full of them! I’m a sucker for diagonal stripes so I used that across the bottom of my Sweet Tooth card stock base to begin.

Next I applied a watercolor wash on Ranger watercolor paper and heat embossed the sentiment from Merry & Bright Stamp Set with silver detail embossing powder and popped it up on the card base with foam tape.

Then I cut the cord and sockets from Gumdrop Green card stock and the bulbs from No Line Coloring card stock and colored them with Copic markers. Highlights were added with Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen and they were also popped up on foam tape. To finish off I added some glitter enamel dots.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the Merry & Bright Card Kit Release!!
