Happy Birthday Blog Hop For Kim!!!!

Woohoo! Today we're celebrating the upcoming birthday of the MFT Lady, Kim van der Sanden! Kim is a super sweet, wonderful, kind, generous--add any good quality and you have Kim in a nutshell. All of us on the DT love her to pieces and want to help her celebrate her special day.

If you'd like to join the celebration, we'd LOVE you to participate! You can add a card to the Splitcoast Galleries using the keyword "HBMFTLADY" or, if you're a Facebook lovin' girl you can add your project to the MFT Fan Facebook page!  Not yet a fan of MFT on Facebook? You can "like" it here and add your post!  Don't have time to stamp?  Just stop by the MFT Facebook page and wish the MFT Lady a happy birthday.  Let's MOB her on her special day!

The birthday mobbing starts at Arlene's blog so be sure to head on over there so you don't miss a single stop on the hop.

And here's my card to Kim. Happy Birthday, sweet lady!!! You're the BEST!! Mwah!

I made my sweet little banner using the Banner Strip Die-namics die and the Typewriter Alphabet Stamp Set. The inside sentiment is from Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays. I used the Little Open Scallop die for my borders and my favorite Pretty Posies Die-namics for my flowers. And almost hidden under my flowers is a couple of Leafy Flourish die cuts.

Now, let's hop on over to the fabulous Christina's blog to see what she's got for Kim! Be prepared to be WOW'd!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Typewriter Alphabet Stamp Set; Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays (MFT)
Paper: Fossil, Jellybean Green, Hot Fudge (MFT); Neighborhood 6 x 6 Collection (Crate Paper); re-purposed corrugated cardboard
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories/tools: Vagabond (Tim Holtz); Leafy Flourish, Pretty Posies, Little Open Scallop Border; Banner Strip Die-namics (MFT); baker's twine, buttons, foam dots

We have a little announcement...

...well, not so little, really. Really, it's pretty exciting! So head on over to the MFT blog and find out what it is! And in honor of this announcement, I have a card :)

I pulled out Sassy and Sweet (temporarily out of stock) for today's card. I just got this fun new paper and it works so well with the set stamps. Of course I used the super fabulous Sweet Stack Labels Die-namics dies with the set to create my focal point. And my favorite Medium Simply Scallops Die-namics die for the border. These scallops are perfection, I'm tellin' ya! Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that--they also seem to be temporarily out of stock.

A little congratulatory sentiment on the inside along with more fun paper and another scalloped border.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Don't forget--teasers start tomorrow!! Yay!! You're gonna love them!!

~Supplies~
Stamps: Sassy and Sweet (MFT)
Paper: Fossil, Black Licorice (MFT); Cajun Craze (SU!); Zoology 6 x 6 pad (Bo Bunny)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)
Accessories/tools: Vagabond (Tim Holtz); Medium Simply Scallops and Sweet Stack Label Die-namics dies (MFT); twill, button, twine, foam dots; Copic marker

Sending Extra Love Your Way - CTD #148 & MFTWSC #26

It's Color Throwdown and MFTWSC time again! I'm the Color Throwdown host this week and these are the colors I chose:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can hear the moans and groans right now, LOL! But we hope you'll give it a whirl and show us your colors!

Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

And here's my card. I went with some Websters Pages paper that had all the colors in it and kept the bold colors to a minimum--as accents, really.

My sentiment is from Well Worn (temporarily out of stock) and I stamped it using the Rock and Roll method--see the edges are a little darker? Love how this look goes with the rustic look of Well Worn. First I cut out the circle using a die from the Die-namics Sweet Stack Labels set, then popped it up on both of the Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics. I used the Pretty Posey Die-namics for my sweet little flower

Here's the inside of my card.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. Be like a flower... Taylored Expressions June Key Ingredients Kit

Happy Sunday, everyone! I have another card for you today using Taylored Expressions June Key Ingredients Kit. Everything I used on this card except the stamp set, ink, and Nestabilities dies come in the kit.

I stamped this beautiful silhouetted image from Summer Afternoon using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on card stock from the kit and cut it out with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die. Then I added the sentiment in the center and popped it up on a Scalloped Circle mat.

I added ribbon and a bow, a paper flower and a brad, all from the kit, to finish it off. I really love that large circle image and sentiment--I think they play off the gorgeous paper in the kit perfectly!

If you're not familiar with Taylored Expressions' Key Ingredients Kits, you can get all the details at the Key Ingredients Blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

My little firecracker - C4C #93

Hey there, all you Crazy 4 Challenges fans! Hope you're ready for a fun challenge today! This is Lynda's last week to host for this month and she's got a great sketch for us.

I'm using one of MFT's latest Pure Innocence sets, My Little Firecracker. I had fun with this card--I went from recycled cardboard to bling, with gingham in between ;-)

I just love her little paper pieced dress! I think my card design is mostly self explanatory, but I did use a couple of Die-namics dies: the sentiment was stamped on part of the First Place Award Ribbon set and I used the Star Border on the inside.

Sooooo, NOW, be sure to check out the samples by the rest of my crazy girls...er, I mean the Crazy 4 Challenges team ;-)

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C93.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Flourishes Friday Free For All - The Rose

It's another Flourishes Friday Free For All! Today I'm sharing another card I made for the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen team. This card was inspired by Bette Midler's 'The Rose' and is using A Year In Flowers, Set 2.

I stamped the image on Classic White card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers before cutting it out with Spellbinders' Classic Oval and matting it with Scalloped Classic Oval Nestabilities. I stamped the sentiment on my patterned paper for a subtle effect. Pretty simple layout, so I won't bore you with details on that :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

~Supplies~
Stamps: A Year In Flowers, Set 2 (Flourishes)
Paper: Classic White, Classic Ivory (Flourishes); Soft Suede (SU!); Madeline Mat Stack (K & Co.)
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger)

USA at SAO

I thought I'd do a quick post to share the project I taught at Stamping Around Ohio last weekend. The class was at the store at which my BFF, Tammy Hershberger, works and it was so good to see her again! We had an awesome time--I got to see my MFT teammate, Christina Fischer again, as well as my good friend Kirsty. And I got to meet Julie Masse and Kim Schofield, the co-owners of Stamping Around. And Maria of Kitchen Sink Stamps and ALL of the participants!!!! I hope they had as good a time as we teachers did!

My class was sponsored by Flourishes Stamps. I used Strips and Stripes to stamp each pennant header and for the rosettes. And I used Spellbinders' Nested Pennants and Lacey Nested Pennant dies for the pennant bases and MFT's 1/4" Rosette and Stacking Stars Die-namics dies And I actually tea-dyed the gingham ribbon with REAL tea!

These banners are so much fun to make--I already have a Summer one done and plans for many more!

I have a couple one more kit for this design in my Etsy store if anyone is interested. There will be no more after this one is gone.

Thanks SO much for stopping by!

Live All the Days Of Your Life - CTD #147 & MFTWSC # 25

Back again with another awesome color combo and sketch. Today's Color Throwdown (the ORIGINAL color throwdown challenge) Challenge colors were chosen by Kristen and they are MY kinda colors ;-)

Aren't they yummy? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

And here's my card. I didn't even flip it this week--I did move the embellishment over to the opposite side, though ;-) I thought these Webster's Pages papers were perfect for this color combo. I'm using a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Birthdays for my focal image, stamped on the scalloped circle from First Place Award Ribbon Die-namics die set, which is layered on the larger Dainty Doily Duo Die-namics die cut. Other Die-namics dies I used are Mini Film Strip Border, Mini Rolled Roses, Leafy Flourish, and Upsy Daisy.

Here's the inside of my card.

It seems I can't make a card any more with out using a Die-namics die or two, or three - or six ;-)

VIP Hop & Shop - Seas the Day!

Are you ready????? Good, 'cause it's time for the MFT VIP Hop and Shop!!! If you just happened upon my blog, I'd advise you to double back to the MFT Blog 'cause that's the beginning. You won't want to miss anything :)

Here's what's in this month's kit:
Who's that Mermaid VIP Collection $31.90
Who's that Mermaid stamp set
Mermaid Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set - will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE)
Large Rolled Rose Die-namics Die

And here's my card. I love the mermaid!! I stamped her on a Perfect Paper Panel (out of stock) and colored her with Copic markers. I'm using MFTWSC Sketch #22. I'm not a square card fan, but for some reason I love this sketch. Pretty self-explanatory, I think. I've got my little mermaid sitting up on some rocks, sunning herself :)

I added some of the new microfine glitter that MFT has started carrying for her lower body--it sparkles so wonderfully IRL.And I added some waves using the Catch a Wave Die-namics die and the a sun using the Sunshine die. Can you tell I just LOOOOOOOVE MFT Die-namics?!

And here's the inside, with more waves, a sentiment and some bubbles.

OK, that's it for me! You'll want to swim on over to Melody's blog--I'm sure she's got something amazing for you to see! And I'll see you back soon for the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge!
