Week In Review–June 22–28, 2015
Hay There–SSSC #275
Hey there, everybody! ;-) It’s time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! I really enjoyed playing with this sketch although it did take some thinking to come up with an idea.
I started with a Blue Breeze card stock base and built my scene on it. Bottom to top: Green Room card stock and Sweet Tooth card stock with Rolling Hills Die-namics, popped up on foam mounting tape. Daffodil card stock and Blueprints 21 Die-namics for the sun, more Sweet Tooth card stock and Cloud Cover-Up for the cloud. All of the images were stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb with Black Licorice hybrid ink and colored with Copic markers. Hay stacks were adhered and the sentiment stamped on Black Licorice card stock small flag die cut with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, then popped up. Peek-a-Boo Trio Die-namics perfectly framed the images from BB The Whole herd and was popped up on foam to frame them with some dimension.
This was a super fun card to make and I ended up loving the sketch! Hope to see you playing along with us this week! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!

Thank You–C4C #292
Hi, everyone, and welcome to this week’s Crazy 4 Challenges! Today our challenge is to use a tree on our projects.
I pulled out one of my favorite sets – LJD Out On a Limb stamp set and LJD Out On a Limb Die-namics for my card. I started with a Kraft card stock base, then on Ranger watercolor paper I watercolored a background with Blue Breeze dye ink and Sour Apple dye ink. The cloud was cut with Blueprints 21 Die-namics and colored with Daffodil dye ink, the clouds with Cloud Cover-Up Die-namics and lightly highlighted with the black from my Kuretake water colors. The tree was colored with Kraft dye ink, Sour Apple dye ink, and Jellybean Green dye ink then I popped up the tree and a couple of clouds with foam mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped on Black Licorice card stock with Versamark and a sentiment from LJD Out On a Limb and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder before also being popped up on foam.
And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you, including our June Guest Designer, Debra Hensley!

Birthday Butterflies - MFT Color Challenge #24
Hi, all, I'm back with this week's MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Blu Raspberry, Persimmon, Lemon Chiffon, and Sweet Tooth. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.
I went kinda CAS with this card—mainly to highlight these gorgeous new butterflies from MFT, Flutter of Butterflies – Lace Die-namics. There is a solid version, too, but I wanted to add the color to these so I’m only using the lace ones on this card.
I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a layer of Sweet Tooth card stock on which I spread white embossing paste through Bold Paisley Stencil. I popped that up on foam mounting tape and added the sentiment, also popped up. It’s part of a sentiment from DC You’re Fin-tastic stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. I cut three sizes of the butterflies from Black Licorice card stock and inlaid the challenge colors into their wing openings. I popped them up on foam, as well, then finished off with some enamel dots.
On the inside I stamped a sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings.
And that’s it for the current color challenge! Hope to see you playing along! Thanks so much for stopping by—see you soon!
