Hello and welcome to this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge! Joan is our host this week and she’s got a summery combo for us today, based on a sweet quilt for inspiration.
Summer seems to bring out the nautical themed supplies and I’m right there with it! I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added a Blue Breeze layer cut with Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics as a base for my scene. I added a sun, cut with Blueprints 21 Die-namics from Lemon Chiffon card stock, clouds, cut with Cloud Cover-Up from Sweet Tooth card stock, waves cut with Making Waves Die-namics from Steel Blue card stock with Sweet Tooth card stock for white caps ;-) I tied around some white cotton yarn, tied in a sailor’s knot and stamped the sentiment at the bottom from PI Sailor Girl with Black Licorice dye ink. I finished off by added my sweet Sailboat Die-namics with a Kraft card stock mast, Red Hot card stock hull, and Blueberry card stock stars on the little flag.
Another sentiment from PI Sailor Girl was stamped on the inside.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD348 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd348 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented June Guest Designer, Nancy Thomas!

Love this fun nautical creation! I used your sailor's knot tutorial for mine as well. I don't make them often enough to remember how to position the twine, so thank goodness for people like you - lol!
ReplyDeleteOh y'all and your knots...they're a perfect touch!! Love the size of that sailboat!! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet card Bar. Love the cute sail boat and the whole scene. Awesome die-cuts.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautifully fresh and clean! The layers and different elements all work perfectly together.
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet card, and the sailor's knot is perfection!
ReplyDeleteYa know, Ms. Barb. I hope you don't take it personally when I say - OH FOR THE LOVE OF PETE. ANOTHER CARD BY BARB. And then I say choice words, (yeah those) .... and then pin your darn card. Always beautiful.
