Get Well Soon - Color Throwdown Challenge #686

Hey there, it's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lisa is our hostess this week and I love these colors she's chosen for us!! Just beautiful together!

I started by cutting a bunch of Fab Foliage Die-namics from Ranger Watercolor paper then colored them with Peerless watercolors, spattered with clean water and then gold acrylic ink,

While they were drying, I heat embossed the sentiment from All-Occasion Scripted Greetings Stamp Set on Chantilly Cream card stock with gold detail embossing powder. Next I arranged the foliage elements and hot glued them to a Chantilly Cream card stock base, then popped the sentiment element up on foam tape.

To finish off, I added some purple sequins to complete the challenge palette. Very CAS but I love it!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD686 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd686 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Enjoy the Little Things - Color Throwdown Challenge #685

Hey, y'all, it's time for a brand new color Throwdown Challenge! This week our hostess is Susie with a color palette that's all Springy-Summery! Hope to see you playing along with us this week!

I'm using elements from the just released Stylish Bouquet MFT March card kit for this card: Stylish Sentiments Stamp Set, Flower Bouquet Die-namics, Bouquet Wrap Die-namics, and Flower Bouquet Builder Stencil.

To begin, I cut Flower Bouquet Die-namics from Orange Zest and Sour Apple card stock and stenciled accents with Jalapeño Popper and Moroccan Spice dye inks, added some black accents, then assembled the individual flowers. Once done, I gathered them into a bouquet and put them inside Bouquet Wrap Die-namics, cut from Kraft card stock.

Next I spattered some black acrylic ink on Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. The wrapped bouquet was then adhered to the card front with more foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and also popped up on the card front with foam tape. Some sweet glitter enamel dots finished it off.

Hi, Hunny - Color Throwdown Challenge #684

Hey there, and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and she's challenging us to a neutral color palette, base on a personal photo of hers.

With yellow and black in the palette I immediately thought of Honey Bees Stamp Set and Honey Bees Die-namics. Along with these I used Beehive Die-namics, Hanging Branch Die-namics and A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics for a scrappy layout.

To begin, I cut my branch, beehive, and the frame. Next I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. The I started adhering elements, starting with some corrugated paper with torn edges. Remember this stuff? I used to use it ALL. THE. TIME. I found some in my stash the other day and promised myself to use it sometime and this card was perfect for it! On top of that I added a strip of Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper, the frame, cut from Cement Gray card stock, the branch, cut from Kraft card stock, and the hive, cut from Butterscotch card stock with a Gravel Gray interior.

All of these layers were either adhered directly or popped up on foam for dimension, as were the colored images. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and likewise popped up on foam tape. I finished off with some gold glitter enamel dots.

My Heart Hurts for You - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #584

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

For today's card I wanted to send some love to the people of Ukraine. Their courage and love of country humbles me--I simply cannot imagine the pain and anguish they are going through as they see their people killed and their beautiful country destroyed. Praying for an end of the atrocities and for them to be able to begin rebuilding their country.

Heart Rays Die-namics was a perfect way to display the flag colors and also reinforce the message of the sentiment from Deepest Sympathy Stamp Set. I cut it from Butterscotch and Cornflower card stocks, reassembled using both colors and secured the pieced on the back with tape. The background was created using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Lazy Day dye ink on Sweet Tooth card stock which was adhered directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

The two bottom sketch elements were done with Stitched Rolling Cloud Edges Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with the sentiment from Deepest Sympathy Stamp Set stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink and popped up on foam. The heart was also popped up on foam and clear raindrop "tears" added. I finished with a few more hearts, cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

What's Up, Peeps? Color Throwdown Challenge #683

Hey there, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Miss Broni is our hostess and she has a super sweet color combo for us to play with--hope to see you playing along!

I saw some peeps in the store the other day which made me realize Easter is quickly approaching! So I got this idea for pink peeps and went from there. My peeps--and clouds--are from the just released MSTN Sending Sunshine and Smiles Stamp Set and MSTN Sunshine and Smiles Die-namics. The peeps were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut the the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers.

To frame my scene, I cut Sweet Tooth card stock with Watercolor Wash Free Form Die-namics, added Pretty In Plaid Patterned Paper cut with Mini Slimline Outside the Box Grassy Hills Die-namics, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base covered with more Pretty in Plaid Patterned Paper.

Next I cut "PEEPS" from Silver Sparkle card stock with Impact Alphabet, heat embossed the sentiment from TI Sweet Little Spell Stamp Set and popped everything up on foam tape.
