You are My Boo! - MFT Color Challenge #152

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Sweet Tooth, Orange Zest, Gravel Gray, and Black Licorice. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This color palette is decidedly Halloween-themed, so that's where I went. I'd had this idea in the back of my head for a while and never developed it so decided this was the time.

I started by layering Spider Web Cover-Up Die-namics, cut from Black Licorice card stock on patterned paper from Creepy Confections Paper Pack and then adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next I cut the word BOO! from Orange Zest card stock with Impact Alphabet Die-namics and popped up on foam tape. Next I added a couple of ghouls and some bats from Ghostly Greetings Stamp Set and Die-namics with added googly eyes.

The sentiment, from More Essential Sentiments Stamp Set, was heat embossed on a strip of Gravel Gray card stock and also popped up on foam tape.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Merry and Bright - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #513

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I do love MFT's Christmas Lights Die-namics so I got them out again for this card. I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added some patterned paper from Christmas Cheer and Very Merry, following the sketch on a panel that was popped up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next i cut the lights from colored vellum and the cords/sockets from Gumdrop Green card stock and adhered them to the card front. The sentiment from Merry and Bright was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock, cut with Phrase Builder Die-namics, and popped up on foam tape.

To finish off I added some glitter enamel dots. And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Merry and Bright - Color Throwdown Challenge #617

Hey there and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lori is our hostess and she has a festive color combo for us to work with,

So, this color combo is not a holiday one, per se, but I love to challenge myself to use unconventional colors in holiday cards. To begin, I sponged Kraft dye ink on Strathmore Bristol card stock, stamped the sentiment from Merry and Bright Stamp Set and the cords from Party Lights stamp set with Extreme Black hybrid ink, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next I cut Party Lights Die-namics from Electric Red, Gumdrop Green, and Limelight card stocks and popped them up on the card front with bits of foam tape.

So tickled with how these colors translated to a holiday card! And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD617 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd616 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

MFT October Vault Release is Available for Purchase!

Hey there and welcome to MFT's October Vault Release! It's all available for purchase right now in the MFT Online Boutique!! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details!

Today I'm using another couple of products that just broke my heart when they retired so I'm absolutely THRILLED to see them back!! Modern Trees Stamp Set and Die-namics became a staple in my stamp room and although I used them for every season--this is the first time I've used them for all FOUR seasons on one card! I had so much FUN making this card it ought to be against the law!

To begin, I trimmed an A2 panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock down to 5" x 3 3/4" and then into quarters. I knew I'd be sponging backgrounds, thus the Strathmore paper. Once that was done I sponged my backgrounds using various inks (listed below) and drifts & Hills Stencil and popped them up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

I've found it easier to do the die-cuts first and then align the stamps for this set so once I got all my trunks done I added leaves in seasonal colors and simply added some Nuvo Amplify to the Winter version and popped them up on foam onto their corresponding backgrounds. I added suns to two, cut with A2 Stitched Circle STAX and Petite Clouds to some as well.

I finished off with the PERFECT sentiment from Little Birthday Notes Stamp Set and heat embossed it on Milk Chocolate card stock cut with Skinny Strips for the finish!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope I've given you some ideas for YOUR new MFT October Vault goodies!! See you soon!

Season's Greetings--MFT October Vault Release , Day One!

Hello and welcome to Day One of MFT's October Vault Release! Release is tomorrow, October 27th, at 10am Eastern so set your clocks! Today we're previewing another list of returning products that will make your heart sing: Modern Trees Stamp Set, Modern Trees Die-namics, Falling Leaves Die-namics, Brick Wall Cover-Up Die-namics, and Wood Plank Background Stamp.

Oh, Falling Leaves Die-namics, how much I've missed you!!!! Seriously, folks, you can use them year-round as I'm about to show you! I've used them for every season and you can too ;-) I wanted something with a holiday flavor and this card could bridge Christmas and Winter with different sentiment.

To begin, I cut Falling Leaves from Blue Breeze and Silver Sparkle card stocks and Translucent Vellum. I swiped Versamark on the edges of the blue card stock and heat embossed with silver detail embossing powder. While I had my embossing supplies out, I stamped a sentiment from Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings Stamp Set, another set being released this time, on After Midnight card stock, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Next, I cut A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics from Silver Shine card stock and adhered it to the card front with foam tape. To complete the card, I arranged my already prepared leaves and when I was happy with them, adhered them down with hot glue.

And there you have it for the last day of MFT's October Vault Release Countdown! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you back tomorrow for Release at 10am, Eastern!

Dashing by With a Holiday Hi - MFT October Vault Release, Countdown Day Two

Hello and welcome to Day Two of MFT's October Vault Release! Release is on October 27 at 10am, Eastern. Today we're previewing
Dashing Deer Stamp Set, Dashing Deer Die-namics, Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings Stamp Set, Birch Trees Die-namics, Snow-Capped Mountains Die-namics and Snow Drifts Cover-Up Die-namics. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details.

I do not have the words to describe how ecstatic I am to have Birch Trees and Snow-Capped Mountains Die-namics back!! You know creating scenes is my favorite thing to do and these two products are invaluable to me! I am giddy with excitement to have them back in my stamping arsenal!

To begin this card I created my sky background with Mini Cloud Edges and Blue Breeze dye ink, then adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I assembled Snow-Capped Mountains, cut from Gravel Gray and Sweet Tooth card stocks and adhered them to the background.

Next I worked on my Birch Trees. Birch Trees-Solid Die-namics will not be coming back but no worries! You can use Birch Trees as is or if you're like me and love some darker care stock peeking out of the openings, I have the solution for you: simply cut some strips of gray card stock a little narrower and adhere them to the back.

I started by cutting Birch Trees Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock...

...next I cut some strips of Cement Gray card stock slightly narrower than the Birch Trees die cuts...

...and then I adhered the strips to the back of the die cuts and then they were ready to use my scene.

After the trees and Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock, were in place, I stamped the images from Dashing Deer Stamp Set, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up in the scene with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped on bottom snow drift before assembly. Foam tape was used for dimension.

And that's it for Day Two of MFT's October Vault Release Countdown! Thanks so much for stopping by today--see you back tomorrow for Day One!
