Don't Worry, Beach Happy - Color Throwdown Challenge #703

Hey there, welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Miss Broni is our hostess this week and she has a gorgeous color palette for us to play with this week!

I created a CAS beach scene 'cause I know how much my friend Broni loves the beach, LOL!! To begin, I sponged the background through Watercolor Wash - Free Form Stencil using Lazy Day and Old Paper Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and adhered it to a Smooth White card stock base.

Next I stamped the sentiment, from Life's a Beach Stamp Set and set it aside. Beach Bungalow Die-namics was cut from Kraft and white scarp card stock, assembled, and popped up on the card front with foam Tape.

I finished off by added the seagulls from Shady Palm Die-namics and some Cutest Clouds Ever Die-namics to finish the scene.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD703 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd703 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Next I created my background by sponging Lazy Day dye ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock, spattered with clean water and black acrylic ink, and adhered directly to a white card stock card base. I did a trial arrangement of the die cut elements and stamped the sentiment, from Raise a Glass Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink.

Once dry, I arranged the drink images again, popping them up on foam tape for dimension to complete the card. I love this card, too, LOL!

Happy Birthday to My Favorite Beach Bum - Color Throwdown Challenge #702

Hey there! It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! I'm hosting this week and hope to see lots of you playing along!

Well, my inspiration piece has nothing to do with the beach but I thought the colors worked and I wanted to make a seasonal card. Nothing says summer like the beach, so that's where I went. To begin, I sponged Sunny Rays Stencil with Lemon Drop dye ink on white card stock and adhered it to a white card stock base.

Next I cut Chantilly Cream, Sno Cone, Summer Splash, and Caribbean Sea card stocks with Sand and Surf Die-namics and layered them up to complete the background. The sentiment is from Life's a Beach Stamp Set and was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink.

Next I cut Sandcastle Builder Die-namics from Chantilly Cream card stock and Shady Palm Die-namics from Kraft, Milk Chocolate, and Sour Apple card stock. I added some Copic marker accents and popped them up on foam tape for dimension, and added some Cutest Clouds ever to finish off.

It's Time!! MFT's July Vault Release Is Now!

Hello, it's time! MFT's July Vault Release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration!

What a fun Vault Release this has been!! Lots of favorites back in out stamping stable!! For this card, I began by creating a background using Balloon Party Stencil to create a flurry of balloons--I think birthdays ALWAYS need lots of balloons (see colors I used below! Once the balloons were stenciled, I hand drew the strings with a black Copic Multiliner pen and set it aside.

Next, I heat embossed the sentiment from Essential Birthday Messages on a Black Licorice card stock base and adhered the balloon background to it with foam tape.

To finish off, I cut Bold Happy Birthday Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and some Fun Foam, glued the letters on the foam, and adhered them to the card front for the finish.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon! For even more ideas and inspiration, please visit the My Favorite Things YouTube channel.

One Day Until MFT's July Vault Release!

Hello, it's Day One of MFT's July Vault Release!! We're back with more birthday favorites today, so be sure to check out the MFT Blog for ALL the details and more inspiration from the MFT Team! Release is tomorrow, July 19, at 10am Eastern so set your clocks! Today we're previewing Celebrate Big Stamp Set, Happy Birthday Candles Stamp Set, Birthday Cake Die-namics, Happy Birthday Centerpieces Die-namics, Celebrate Speech Bubble Die-namics, Oval Shadow Die-namics, and Looped Border Die-namics.

I was SO excited to see Celebrate Speech Bubble Die-namics returning!! I always loved that die and used it a lot so expect to see more of it in the future :) I'm also using Essential Birthday Message Stamp Set and Balloon Alphabet and Numbers again today.

To begin, I sponged some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Lazy Day dye ink, spattered it with clean water and adhered it to a white card stock base after stamping the sentiment from Essential Birthday Messages Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink.

Next I created a shaker element by cutting Celebrate Speech Bubble Die-namics from white card stock, adhering clear acetate card stock for the window, using foam tape for the dam, filled with rainbow colored shaker filler. To keep from adding a separate back, I left the cover on the foam tape at the top, adhered the sides and bottom, then poured the filler in the top and then adhered the top foam tape.

Next I cut Balloon Alphabet and Numbers Die-namics from Copic-friendly card stock, colored them with Copic markers, added black quilting thread for the strings, and popped them up on foam tape for the finish.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the MFT July Vault Release!

Peek-a-Boo Polka Dots Die-namics, and Wish Die-namics.

I love having these balloon dies to color--just a perfect size for so many applications, like how I used them today. To begin, I created a sky background sponging Lazy Day dye ink through Mini Cloud Edges and Watercolor Wash - Free Form Stencils on white card stock then adhered it with foam tape to a white card stock base on which I added a strip of Happy Patterns Patterned Paper across the bottom.

Next I cut Wish Die-namics from more Happy Patterns paper and popped it up on the card front with foam tape. Three balloons were cut from Balloon Alphabet and Numbers Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, popped the, up on the card front, as well, and hand drew the balloon strings with a black Copic multiliner pen.
