Puttin’ on the Glitz–MFT December Hits & Highlights

Ring in the new year (a brand new decade!) with glamorous looks that feature lots of shimmer & shine. Use any of our glittered card stocks, metallic card stocks, foil dies, or technique of your choice to create unforgettable looks that sparkle.

This was the challenge the Design Team was given for the last MFT Hits & Highlights of 2019. Wow. Seems strange to type that as it seems 2019 just started, am I right? Whew!

I love gold and dark blue together so that’s the direction in which I went for this card. I started by sponging the card front on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper cut with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 using Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot Distress Inks and once it was dry I dry embossed with Radiating Rays Stencil and splattered it with gold acrylic ink. Then I matted it with Gold Shine card stock cut with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 and popped them both up on an After Midnight card stock card base with foam tape.

I cut the 2020 from Gold Sparkle card stock with Impact Numbers Die-namics, adhered them with foam tape and finished off with a sentiment from Bitty Holiday Wishes Stamp set heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock in gold to tie it all together.

And there you have it—thanks so much for stopping by today! See you in 2020!

Sweet Winter Wishes–MFT Color Challenge #132

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Gravel Gray, Red Hot, Field Day, and Limelight. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

These colors just said “winter scene” to me so I went there. I spread snow paste through Snowfall – Horizontal Stencil on Cement Gray card stock—makes a perfect winter dusk background—for starters and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. I added Birch Tree Die-namics and Snowy Scene Builder Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with the sentiment from Snow Globe Greetings Stamp Set stamped on the front.

The trees from Snowy Scene Builder Die-namics were cut from Field Day and Limelight card stocks, the trunks colored with a Copic marker, and popped up in the scene on foam or adhered directly. The cardinal is from Delightful Deer Die-namics and was cut from Red Hot card stock with a Black Licorice card stock bill and also adhered on foam.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Merry Christmas–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #469

Hi, everyone, first of all let me wish you all a very Merry Christmas! And I’m back with this week’s
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Well, I definitely used some creative license with this card but had great fun with this sketch! I hadn’t used these adorable images from Reindeer Games yet and it’s today or next year, LOL! First, I sponged the background using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and splattered it with clean water. Once dry, I adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock card base and added Snow Drifts Die-namics, also cut from Sweet Tooth card stock. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers.

The sentiment, from Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings, was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Stitched Traditional Tag STAX Die-namics and popped up on foam tape with baker’s twine tied on. The images were adhered with foam tape for dimension and it was done!

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

CAS Wishes–MFT December Birthday Project Challenge

We’re a bit busy this time of year…just us? Clean and simple cards are not only appealing, they can also be put together in minimal time (OK, the design process might take just as long but the assembly is quicker…right? Right??) so they are a great option when time is short, and you’d prefer to use fewer supplies to minimize clean up. Clean and simple is the theme this month — take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to see what you can come up with!

I do love me some CAS! The card I have today can easily be mass produced in different colors so you can have a stash for whenever you need them. To begin, I heat embossed Floral Focus Stamp Set on Black Licorice card stock, cut it with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1, matted it with Gold Sparkle card stock cut with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next I cut Happy Birthday Script Die-namics from Gold Sparkle card stock and twice from white scrap paper, stacked them with spray adhesive and adhered it to the card front. To finish off I added some Clear Round Drops – Mix One and called it done!

That’s if from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

I Love You. I Mean It.–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #468

Hi, everyone, I'm back with this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

The hearts made me do it. Once I saw this sketch I couldn’t think of anything except love. LOVE, I tell ya! So, I didn’t try to fight it and just went with the vibe :) First I applied a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Razzle Berry Color Burst powder and after it dried splattered with clean water and black acrylic ink and adhered that panel to a Sweet Tooth card stock base once it was dry. Once it WAS dry, I popped up Double the Love Die-namics, cut from Silver Sparkle card stock with foam tape. My original plan was to stop there but it looked a little “unfinished” to me.

So, I created four of the smaller rose from Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics using Ripe Raspberry card stock and adhered one to each letter along with Fab Foliage Die-namics cut from Sour Apple card stock. To finish off, the sentiment, from Essential Sentiments Stamp Set was heat embossed and adhered with foam tape.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Namaste - MFT December Vault Release, Day Two

Hello, I’m back today with another card, using PI Serenity Stamp Set and Die-namics from MFT’s December Vault Release. This is another set I really missed so couldn’t wait to use it again.

To begin, I created some soft clouds using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blue Breeze dye ink, applied with a sponge dauber. Then I added some grass using Grassy Fields Die-namics and Sour Apple card stock, stamped with the sentiment. The image was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers and added to the scene with foam tape.

To add more serenity, I added a sun, a couple of clouds, and some butterflies, from SY Joyful Heart Bears Stamp Set and Die-namics. Sitting in the sunshine, doing yoga with butterflies flying around seems like a great way to spend an afternoon, amirite?

And that’s if from me. Thanks so much for stopping by today. See you soon!

Strike Up the Band! It's time for the MFT December Vault Release!

Hello and welcome to MFT’s December Vault Release! Today I’m using BB Strike Up the Bank Stamp Set and Die-namics and also being released is BB Adventure is Calling Stamp Set and Die-namics, ALM Martinis on Me Stamp Set and Die-namics, PI Crafty Friends Stamp Set and Die-namics, and PI Serenity Stamp Set and Die-namics, All are now available for purchase in the MFT online store!

I wanted to set a scene showing these adorable mice marching in front of a park and then into the city. That was easy to do by using City Block, Our Town, and Grassy Fields Die-namics. The sky was sponged using Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress ink, then I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set and adhered the die cuts, both directly and popped up on foam tape. The sun was cut using Beach Scene Builder and the clouds with Cute Cloud Outlines.

Once that was all in place I stamped the images with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up in the scene with foam tape.

And there you have it from me for MFT’s December Vault Release. Thanks for stopping by! I’ll have another card tomorrow to provide more inspiration for YOUR December Vault purchases. Now, go shop!
