Heck Yes! It's Your Birthday! - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #572

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

What a great sketch for a one layer card, right??? I mean, the work is almost already done for you so I couldn't resist playing along!! I decided to use Basic Shapes - Circles Stencil and use rainbow colors for my version.

I simply got out a bunch of dye inks (see below) and tried to match the stencil openings to the circles in the sketch and just started sponging the colors on a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper.

Once that was all done I stamped the sentiment, from Anything-but-Basic Birthday Wishes Stamp Set, with Extreme Black hybrid ink, adhered the card front to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, and finished off with enamel dots for the smaller elements.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

'Tis the Season to Celebrate - Color Throwdown Challenge #673

Hey there and welcome to a brand new--and the last for 2021--Color Throwdown Challenge! WHERE exactly has this year gone???? Can someone please tell me???? Yikes!! Anyway, Miss Broni is our hostess this week and she is challenging us with some gorgeous Christmas colors. Although my colors didn't photo as well as I might have wanted, I love how it turned out.

To begin, I used an image from Wonderful Woods for the base of my greenery swag, heat embossing it with silver detail embossing powder on No Line Coloring card stock. Next I decided where I wanted my ornaments and stamped them using BB Christmas Elves Stamp Set and colored them with Copic markers.

Once that was done I stamped the sentiment from Christmas Cardinals Stamp Set and hand drew the strings to the swag. I did not notice I missed one string until I was doing this blog post. Unfortunately the card has been sent so I can't fix it, but it's not the first card I've missed something on, LOL!

The card front was popped up on foam tape on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with a strip of Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper across the bottom. Two images from Christmas Cardinals Stamp Set were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and adhered on top of the swag with hot glue. A sweet little bow from baker's twine was added on top for the finish.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD673 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd673 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

MFT December New Product Release!!

Hello, it's time! MFT's December Release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration!

I decided to create a shaker element for today's card using Thank You for Being a Friend Die-namics.

To begin, I sponged my landscape on Sweet Tooth card stock using Mini Cloud Edges and Drifts & Hills Stencils and Lazy Day and Sour Apple dye inks. I masked off the bottom and sponged it with Cement Gray dye ink for some grounding.

Next I cut the sponged panel with Thank You for Being a Friend Die-namics, created a shaker element using clear acetate for the window, foam tape for the dam, filled it with gold star confetti, and closed it up with the Sweet Tooth card stock base.

The images from Favorite Friends Stamp Set were stamped on No line Coloring card stock, cut with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and adhered to the card front with foam tape.

And that's it from me for MFT's October Release! Thanks so much for stopping by--now go shop!

Final Countdown - One Day Until MFT's December Release Countdown!

Hello and welcome to Day One of MFT's December Release Countdown! Release is in one day, December 14th, at 10am Eastern so make a note! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for ALL the details! Today we're previewing TI Friend-chip Goals Stamp Set, TI Friend-chip Goals Die-namics, PI What's Poppin'? Stamp Set, PI What's Poppin'? Die-namics, and Friends Forever Circle Frame.

I rarely can resist the PI in each release and this month was no exception because I dearly love popcorn! To begin, I planned my design. I knew I wanted to do a scrappy card so after looking over my patterned paper, I pulled out Party Time to use as my color palette.

Next, I stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers. To create the background, I sponged Broken China Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, tied around some baker's twine, and popped it up on some patterned paper that was directly adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I added a couple more strips of patterned paper at the bottom of the card front.

The sentiment was heat embossed on Tropical Teal card stock and popped up on foam, as was the image for the finish.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the December Release!
