Hay! MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #478

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This was such a fun sketch to play with!! I ventured out of the box a bit but that’s nothing new for me, LOL! To start I stenciled my background on Sweet Tooth card stock using Blue Breeze dye ink with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Gumdrop Green dye ink with Grassy Edges Stencil and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock card base. Next I sponged Scattered Straw and Gathered Twigs Distress ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and cut the word HAY! from it using Impact Alphabet and Impact Numbers Die-namics. Then I stamped images from PI Farmer Girl on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it up with Copic markers.

Next I adhered a strip of Black & White Stripes Paper Pack for the vertical element, and cut Farm Fence Die-namics from Kraft card stock, and popped it up on foam tape. The letterers were adhered with foam tape at the top and the colored images were popped up on foam in front of the fence, all following the sketch. Love how this turned out!

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Hello–Color Throwdown Challenge #582

Hello and welcome to a brand new
Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m hosting this week and I hope to see lots of you playing along with us! It’s the end of February, cold, windy, damp, I thought this warm weather scene might help us escape reality for  little while ;-)

I started by sponging my background with Broken China Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. Then I spattered it with some clean water and some black acrylic ink then stamped it with the sentiment from Flowers in Bloom Stamp Set and Extreme Black hybrid ink. It was matted with Black Licorice card stock and popped up on a Kraft card stock base with foam tape.

Next I stamped Flowers in Bloom Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock and Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers in the challenge colors. Once it was adhered to the card front with foam tape it was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD582 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd582 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

It's a Pizza Party for MFT February Hits & Highlights Feature!

And you’re all invited!! The Pizza Maker Die-namics and Pizza My Heart stamp set are such a versatile duo — pizza is universally loved! From young children to more, *ahem*, mature, child-at-heart recipients, you can’t go wrong with dough, sauce, and cheese. Today, we’re inviting YOU to our MFT pizza party. Check out the buffet of mouth-watering ideas our team has crafted to celebrate this delicious new combo.

I had the bright idea to model this card like a pizza box so to start I cut Kraft card stock to a 4 1/4” square card base and went from there. I added some color using Tiny Check Paper Pad and some Cornflower and Tangy Orange card stocks then stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink. The pizza itself was created using Pizza Maker Die-namics then cut it into slices and put it on a pizza pan—cut from Silver Shine card stock with Stitched Circle Die-namics and popped up on foam tape.

For the inside, I cut Gift Card Grooves Die-namics from another Kraft panel, stamped another sentiment, added more color with paper and card stock, and adhered it to the inside of the card. A pizza restaurant gift card inserted in the groove finishes it off. I love how this turned out—what fun it would be to get it, right?
