Cards with Heart–MFT February Birthday Project Challenge

Hearts are a universal symbol of love. While February is typically thought of as a month to celebrate a Valentine's Day type of love, birthday cards can also be thought of as an expression of our love for the birthday boy or girl. Hearts abound this month as our team has been busy crafting birthday cards featuring hearts.

I immediately thought of PI Love Is in the Air Stamp Set and Die-namics for this card. To begin, I stamped little PI on No Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut her out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored her with Copic markers, and paper pieced her dress with paper from Birthday Brights Paper Pack. Next I created the background by sponging Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Broken China and Pumice Stone Distress Inks, stamped the sentiment from Essential Sentiments, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth Card Stock base with foam tape,

Next I cut Block Happy Birthday Die-namics from the patterned paper colors (see below), adhered them to the top of the card front, stamped the hearts with Wild Cherry dye ink, added them with bits of foam tape, and adhered the sweet little PI, also with foam tape.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog to see how to play and maybe win a prize!

See you soon!
