Spread Your Wings - Color Throwdown Challenge #699

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week Miss Vickie is our hostess and she's challenging us to this cool color palette. Hope to see lots of you playing along!

For my card today I started by applying a watercolor wash to Ranger Watercolor paper with Peerless Watercolors using the challenge colors. Once dry, I spattered with some black acrylic ink and set aside to finish drying.

Next I stamped the butterflies from Spread Your Wings Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock and cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics.

The watercolored panel was adhered to a white card stock base, then Leafy Layer Cover-Up was cut from white card stock and adhered directly to that

The sentiment from the set was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock and popped up on foam, as were the stamped butterflies for the finish.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD699 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd699 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Hello, Sweet Friend - Color Throwdown Challenge #698

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge!! Lynn is our hostess this week and she has a decidedly Summer color palette for us. Hope to see lots of you playing along with us this week!

I love the recently-released Chevron Stripes Die-namics from MFT and decided it would be a perfect way to showcase these colors. So, to begin, I cut them from four colors of Colorful Canvas Patterned Paper and adhered them directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock panel, then adhered that to a Sweet Tooth card stock base using foam tape.

Next I cut Sweet Hello Die-namics from Black Licorice and Sweet Tooth card stocks, adhered them together, and popped it up on the chevrons with foam tape. The rest of the sentiment is from Well, Hello Stamp Set and was heat embossed and popped up on foam as well.

To finish off I added some matching glitter enamel dots and called it done!

What can I say??? This kit is a vacation in a box!! So many amazing products to help you create all kinds of beach scenes! For today I chose to create a CAS beach scene using Life's a Beach Stamp Set along with Sandcastle Builder and Sand and Surf Die-namics. Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, Cutest Clouds Ever and A2 Circle Die-namics help me create this sunny and peaceful scene.

To begin, I cut the sand and surf from Ranger Watercolor paper, did a watercolor wash with Peerless Watercolors and once dry, added some snow, patting it on the edges with a palette knife to resemble foam--I Love how it turned out! Next I stenciled the sky, using Lazy Day dye ink, stamped the sentiment, and adhered all of the layers.

The sandcastle pieces and parts were also cut from watercolor paper and watercolored. Some spattering added some dimension, and again, once dry, it was assembled and popped up on foam on the sand.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Beach Day, MFT's June Card Kit Release!

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lisa is challenging us to an earthy color palette with so many possibilities. Hope to see lot of you playing along this week!

I was looking for some inspiration in my stamp sets and ran across Housecats Stamp Set and Die-namics which was perfect! I started with a Kraft card stock card base and adhered a Chantilly Cream card stock card front with foam tape.

Next, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers.

Once colored, I popped the images up on foam tape in a little vignette, and finished off with enamel dots in the challenge colors.
