Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Lemon Chiffon, Ripe Raspberry, Summer Splash, and Gumdrop Green. So, what do you do when you don’t have a poinsettia die but you want to make a poinsettia? You improvise, of course and it turns out that Falling Leaves Die-namics work great! I cut a bunch of the two smaller sizes, watercolored them and arranged them to form a poinsettia, adhered to a watercolor wash background. I used two shades of yellow Prills for the center.

MFTCPC80_2017oct26b

The sentiment is from Hand-Lettered Christmas Stamp Set and was stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder. I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops – Morning Dew for the finish.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Seal-ed with Love–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #356

MFTWSC356_2017oct25

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_356

This is a great sketch with lots of room to be creative! I started by spreading molding paste on Stone Gray card stock through Snowfall Stencil, then set it aside to dry. Next I stamped the image from Polar Pals, cut it out with the coordinating die, and colored it with Copic markers.

MFTWSC356_2017oct25b

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. The long horizontal element was cut with Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock. Foam mounting tape was used for dimension and the red heart was cut with Blueprints 31 Die-namics.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

So Truly Grateful–CTD #466

CTD466_2017oct25

Hi everyone and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lisa is our hostess this week and her rich palette of colors was inspired by this gorgeous photo.

swatch466

I can’t seem to leave Falling Leaves Die-namics alone, but I thought they would be perfect for this Fall-ish color combo. I started by sponging Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink on some woodgrain card stock then splattered some water to move some ink, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. Then I cut the leaves using Eggplant, Brick Red, and Jellybean Green card stocks, brushing the edges with Delicata Gold ink.

CTD466_2017oct25b

The sentiment is from LJD Geometric Greenery and was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock, heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder, and adhered with foam tape. I arranged the leaves and adhered them with hot glue then added some dew drops with Nuvo Jewel Drops – Morning Dew for the finish.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD466 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd464 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Interactive Christmas Card–MFT October Hits & Highlights Design Team Challenge

hitsnhighlights_2017oct24

It’s time for another Hits & Highlights Design Team Challenge from MFT! This time we’re creating unique designs with the MFT Tic Tac Toe line of products.

Print

I thought a card shaped like a Christmas ornament with the Tic Tac Toe element in the center would be a fun design. To begin, I cut Gold Sparkle card stock with Circle STAX Set 1 for the card front. I cut the center out with Square Shaker Window & Frame and inserted a Square Shaker Pouch and Tic Tac Toe White. Next I stamped up a bunch of ornaments from BB Happy Pawlidays, colored with Copics, and fussy cut them out.

hitsnhighlights_2017oct24b

I placed them and some Silver Sparkle seed beads in the Tic Tac Toe board and closed it up with Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Circle STAX Set 2. I cut both pieces of an identical back from Sweet Tooth and created a “hinge” and a hanger ring from Brushed Gold card stock. I added Sour Apple Sparkle card stock and red glitter card stock to the top and bottom and tied on a sentiment tag created with Tag Builder Blueprints 5 and Snow Globe Sentiments. I fits in an A2 envelope and I think the recipient of this card will smile when they open it and shake the ornaments around!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by the
MFT Blog to see what the other designers have for you today. See you soon!

Sending Smooches–MFT and Ellen Hutson United We Flourish Collaboration

ellenhutsoncollab_2017oct22

Hi everyone, welcome to a very special post. Today we’re sharing a new set that will be sold exclusively through Ellen Hutson through the United We Flourish Collaboration called Good Friends. There are coordinating Die-namics and the set contains a bunch of adorable images and sentiments.

I started by stamping the “XOXO” image down the side of a Sweet Tooth card stock base, flipping the sentiment every other impression. Then I added a narrow strip of Hearts & Stripes Patterned Paper and set it aside.

ellenhutsoncollab_2017oct22b

For my card front, I sponged a background using Berrylicious dye ink and Grout Gray dye ink, then popped it up on foam tape on the base. I stamped the images on No-Line Coloring Card Stock with Black Licorice hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating dies, colored with Copics, and adhered them with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Speech Bubble Die-namics, heat embossed with white detail embossing powder, and also popped up on foam. To finish, I added some bitty hearts, cut from Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics.

And that’s it from me for today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out the
MFT Blog to see what the other MFT Designers have done with this set. See you soon!

Witch Way is the Candy?–MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints October Challenge

CCwithBP_2017oct19

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this month’s Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this month’s challenge. All of the details about the challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Here’s this month’s challenge: Directional elements range from obvious arrows to simple tags and banners that include a pointed end. They’re a fantastic way to lead your recipient right to the sweet spot of your look. This month, we’ve challenges our designers to come up with inventive ways of integrating Blueprints directional elements into their designs.

MFT_CreativeConstruction_SideBar

This card was super fun to make!! I was racking my brain for an idea and suddenly I thought: “Witch Way Is the Candy?”!!!! Perfect! I sponged the sky using Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and used Spring Scene Builder Die-namics for most of the scene.

CCwithBP_2017oct19b

I stamped the sentiment on arrows cut from two different Blueprints Die-namics, attached them to a “post” and stuck it in the “ground” next to the dirt road. My adorable witch was colored with Copic markers, also used on the trees. Foam tape provides dimension.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Merry Kiss-Mas–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #355

MFTWSC355_2017oct18

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_355

Well, this one was definitely a challenge, LOL!! I started by creating my background to cover the entire card front using Drifts & Hills Stencil and Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. I cut the square out with Square Peek-a-Boo Window Die-namics, stamped the sentiment from Sending Smooches Stamp Set, popped the main part up on foam tape, and replaced the cutout, adhering it directly to the card base. Then I added strips of Silver Sparkle card stock and Dots & Stripes Neutrals patterned paper for the bottom element.

MFTWSC355_2017oct18b

I stamped the two little birdies from Dashing Deer with Black Licorice hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating dies, colored with Copics, and popped them up in the window with foam tape. For the star element, I used some creative license and tied a piece of mistletoe from Dashing Deer to a limb created by cutting a trunk from Tree-mendous Die-namics from Cherry Wood Adhesive Backed sheet and adding snow with glue and White Diamond Microfine Glitter. I “tied” it on with a little bow from Blueprints 26. IRL you can see the mistletoe berries are Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Hello, Bootiful–CTD #465

CTD465_2017oct18

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Jodi has given us another Halloween color combo based on her awesome inspiration piece.

swatch465

I decided to let the inspiration piece be my guide so first of all I sponged a spooky sky with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Grape Jelly dye ink. I added a moon cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with Circle STAX Set 1 Die-namics, added Birch Trees/Solid Birch Trees Die-namics, and Black Licorice card stock cut with Grassy Fields Die-namics.

CTD465_2017oct18b

The sentiment, from BB Fab-BOO-lous Friends was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. Foam tape was used for dimension. To finish off, I added some bats, also from BB Fab-BOO-lous Friends and it was done.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the

SensationalStitchedFlowers_KitPeek

For this card I made an ornament that can be removed and hung on a tree :) I adhered the hanging cord between the layers with gold washi tape so it’s easily removed. To begin, I trimmed some Sweet Tooth card stock with A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 and cut the center circle with Circle STAX Set 1 as well as a circle into the front of the card base. Then I dry embossed with Radiating Rays Stencil and set it aside. Next I stamped five layers of Snowflake Splendor stamp set on Sweet Tooth card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder and silver detail embossing powder, alternating colors.

cardkitdayrelease_2017oct17b

Then I adhered my layers, alternating metal colors, with foam mounting tape, sandwiching the hanging cord between the bottom and next layers. I adhered the cord to the card base, then popped the front up on it with foam mounting tape. I added a drop of Nuvo Crystal Drops – Metallic Silver Lining and Nuvo Crystal Drops – Metallic Bright Gold to each snowflake (see? I’m addicted!). The sentiment is a partial one from Snowfall of Blessings, stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with silver detail embossing powder. I popped it up on foam mounting tape and was done.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope I’ve given you some ideas for using YOUR Snow Globe Card Kit. See you soon!

MFT October Card Kit–Snowflake Splendor, Countdown Day Two

cardkitday2_2017oct17

Hi, all! So, what do you think of this month’s kit? Amazing, right? The Design Team had some samples for you yesterday and there’s more to come today so be sure to check out the MFT Blog for all the details. Release is tonight at 9pm Eastern, so make a note!

SensationalStitchedFlowers_KitPeek

I decided to get out my Flop Card – Circle Die-namics for this card—Layered Snowflakes Die-namics fit perfectly in the circle and the flop card design lends itself to lots of other design possibilities. I started by stamping some images from Snowflake Splendor on a Kraft card stock base with Versamark then cut/scored with Flop Card – Circle Die-namics and added some Kraft Collection – Solid Stripes patterned paper to the inside.

cardkitday2_2017oct17b

I created my snowflake using Layered Snowflakes Die-namics and, bottom to top, Primitive White card stock, Tropical Teal card stock, some corrugated paper (remember that?), Sno Cone card stock, and more Primitive White. I sponged the edges of all with Kraft dye ink and adhered them with hot glue to add some dimension. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Tropical Teal card stock cut with Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics and heat embossed with off white embossing powder. I popped it up on foam mounting tape and added a circle of Primitive White on the inside for signing.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you back tonight for Release!
