Find Joy in Everyday Blessings - Wreath Building with MFT & Gina K.

We have a fun challenge for the month of May – we’ve been challenged to get creative with our MFT stamps and the Gina K Wreath Builder Templates. These templates come in two sizes to create 3 3/4" wreaths and 4" wreaths and are a ton of fun to play with!

I chose to build my wreath with the smaller template and Flower Silhouetted Stamp Set. I used Limelight and Gumdrop Green Premium Dye Inks for the foliage stamp and Peach Bellini and Grapesicle for the other two images on Sweet Tooth card stock. Once that was done I matted my wreath panel with Peach Bellini Card Stock and popped it up on a 4 1/4” square Sweet Tooth Card Stock base.

The sentiment is from LJD Cheerful Blessings Stamp Set and was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics with Black Licorice dye ink. I matted that with Grapesicle card stock cut with Mini Scallop Circle STAX Die-namics and adhered them both with foam mounting tape for dimension. To finish off and to add a little sparkle I added a few sequins.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Sending Prayers - MFT Color Challenge #118

Hi all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Grout Gray, Cement Gray, Coral Crush, and Limelight. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I thought these colors called for a relatively simple design so first I sponged my background with Cement Gray and Coral Crush dye inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I cut Birch Trees Die-namics from Grout Gray Card stock and sponged the edges with Cement Gray dye ink.

Then I cut Grassy Hills Die-namics from Limelight card stock, sponged the edges with Limelight dye ink and adhered the larger panel to the card front. Next I added the trees, one adhered directly and the other two popped up on foam tape. The sentiment, from Deepest Sympathy Stamp Set was stamped several times with Cement Gray dye ink on the second Limelight card stock panel and popped up on foam tape. The leaves were cut from Limelight card stock and adhered with liquid glue for the finish.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Congratulations!–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #438

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I followed this sketch pretty closes for a change ;-) I started by creating the main panel by cutting Blueprints 33 from Ranger Watercolor paper and heat embossed Roses All Over Background with gold detail embossing powder, then applied a watercolor wash.

Next I cut the bottom panel, again from watercolor paper, with Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics, applied a watercolor wash, and splattered it with gold acrylic ink and a small art brush. Both panels were adhered with foam tape.

Then I added Fab Foliage Die-namics, cut from Limelight card stock and three Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics, cut from Tickled Pink, Peach Bellini, and Coral Crush card stocks. I finished off with a sentiment from Essential Sentiments, heat embossed on Translucent Vellum with gold detail embossing powder and matted with Gold Shine card stock.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Have a Clawsome Day–Color Throwdown Challenge #544

Hey there and welcome to a new
Color Throwdown Challenge! Amy Rohl is our hostess this week and her nautical inspiration piece just made me to in that direction!

So, I was working way ahead because I was going to be traveling and got this done before the recent retirement sale at
MFT. I got out the recently-retired Just Beclaws Stamp Set and Die-namics for this card. First I sponged the night sky with After Midnight dye ink and splattered it with slightly watered-down Copic Opaque White for the stars. Yes, it’s night, but the beach and near sea is lit up with spotlight from the house on the beach, right? Right.

The images were stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on the beach with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped with After Midnight dye ink and it was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD544 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd544 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Dino-mite and So Much Pun Collection

Hello, I’m back on the
Doodlebug Design blog again and today I’m using Dino-mite Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts along with the So Much Pun Collection.

For my first card I went clean and simple to highlight the adorable dinosaur. I stamped the image on Copic-friendly white card stock with Copic-friendly black ink, cut out with the coordinating Doodle Cuts, and colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment from the set was stamped and I tied around some Ladybug Doodle Twine.

I adhered it on foam tape to a white card stock base that had been covered with patterned paper from So Much Pun 6 x 6 paper pad and finished off with some Bumblebee, Blue Jean, and Limeade Sprinkles.
*****

For my second card I created a little framed scene. I sponged the background with aqua dye ink, added a strip of Cinnamon Textured card stock and some patterned paper from the 6 x 6 paper pad. Next I added the frame, using black card stock and a strip of Green Grass Washi tape fortified with white card stock, both adhered with foam tape.

The images were stamped on Copic-friendly white card stock with Copic-friendly black ink, cut out with the coordinating Doodle Cuts, and colored it with Copic markers, before being adhered in the scene with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped, cut into individual words, and adhered on the frame. I added a sun and some clouds and finished off with some Ladybug, Swimming Pool, and Limeade Sprinkles.
*****

For my final card I created a scene out in the wide open spaces! Again, I sponged the background with aqua dye ink and built the scene using the palm tree patterned paper from the 6 x 6 So Much Pun paper pad to create a hillside. I added more Cinnamon Textured card stock in the foreground and added some Shape Sprinkles palm trees to add some depth

I added clouds and a sun, some tropical leaves, and the sentiment strip from the So Much Pun Chit Chat Collection. So much pun = so much fun!!!

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope I’ve given you some ideas for using YOUR So Much Pun collection and Dino-mite Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts! See you soon!

Make a Wish–MFT May Birthday Project Challenge

It’s just not a birthday celebration without candles…a single number candle for tiny tots is always a winner while a towering inferno of colorful candles can’t be beaten for those of an “advanced” age ;) Light it up this month — we can’t wait to see your cards featuring candles!

Age is just a number, amirite? And who’s counting, right? I love this sentiment from Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings so I thought I’d play off of it for my design today. To begin, I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of a Sweet Tooth card stock panel and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I adhered the googly eyes to mimic shocked faces, LOL!

That was the easy part ;-) Well, the rest wasn’t *hard* it was just a bit time-consuming but it was worth it. I cut the candles from Birthday Cake Die-namics multiple times and colored them with Copic markers. Then I dropped a few at a time and adhered them where they fell so I’d get a random look. Once they were all adhered it was done!

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Birthday Fishes–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #437

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

When I first looked at this sketch I was a little like, “I don’t want to use circles, so what CAN I use?” So I started looking through my stamps and saw these different size fish and knew they would work! First I created my background by first heat embossing Whimsical Waves Background on Ranger Watercolor paper, then I did a watercolor wash with Peerless watercolors and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base when it was dry.

The fishies were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and adhered with foam tape. I finished off by heat embossing the sentiment on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

You’re Ext-ROAR-dinary–Color Throwdown Challenge #543

Hello and welcome to a new
Color Throwdown Challenge! Today Broni is our hostess and she’s challenging us with some nature-inspired colors.

I started by creating my background, using Berrylicious dye ink and Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. I then created my scene using Snow-Capped Mountains Die-namics and Grassy Hills Die-namics. Next I stamped the images from Cutieasaurus Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No Line Coloring card stock, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers.

Then I popped them up on the scene and finished off with a heat embossed sentiment, stamped on Black Licorice card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. You Paint My World Happy - MFT Color Challenge #117

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Tropical Teal, Tangy Orange, Kraft, and After Midnight. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

When I saw this little girl bear with her paint brushes and that can of paint I KNEW right then she would be perfect for a color challenge!! So, to start, I sponged the floor with Cement Gray dye ink to ground the scene and stamped the sentiment with Extreme Black hybrid ink since in my experience, stamping with dye ink on top of dye ink leads to bleeding of the stamped image. Then I stamped the images with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored them with Copic markers. I wanted her to be creating a masterpiece in abstract art so I had her “splash” her paint on a “canvas” made of Sweet Tooth card stock with Distressed Patterns Stamp Set and dye inks in the challenge colors.

I adhered the canvas with foam tape and since she’s a little girl, thought she might need some help to get at the top of the canvas. To give her a boost, I built her a ladder from Farm Fence Die-namics, sadly recently retired. I even gave her some paint smudges on her overalls and drips on the floor ;-)

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
