Have a Beary Special Day - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #548

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Yes, I'm STILL working my way though all the Birdie Brown goodies from MFT's Vault Release! I decided BB Birthday Bears would provide an adorable little vignette to work around and I think I was right.

To begin, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers--the balloons fulfilling the smaller rectangle element of the sketch.

Party Plaid Patterned Paper provided the larger square element and the sentiment was heat embossed on Tropical Teal card stock cut with Fishtail Foundations Die-namics.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Heck Yes! It's Your Birthday! - Color Throwdown Challenge #649

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Vickie is out hostess and she's chosen some gorgeous bold gem stone colors for us to work with. Hope you play along with us!

I never fail to love how Balloon Bundle Stamp Set and Die-namics turn out no matter what colors or card design I use them on. It's just HAPPY!! So, to begin, I stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers.

Next I stamped Happy Birthday Background on Sweet Tooth card stock using Cement Gray die ink, then a sentiment from Anything-But-Basic Birthday Wishes was over stamped on the background using Extreme Black hybrid ink.

It was then adhered on foam to a Sweet Tooth card stock base edged with Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper. Once the colored image was popped up on foam tape it was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD649 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd649 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! I Whale Always Love You - MFT June Outside the Box Challenge: Underwater Adventures

Hi, all, welcome to MFT's June Outside the Box Challenge! This month's theme is Underwater Adventures and what fun it is!

To begin, I cut the base of Outside the Box Die-namics with Caribbean Sea card stock and assembled it. For the background, I stenciled Micro Cloud Edges on Sweet Tooth card stock with Lazy Day dye ink then adhered it inside the box.

I added clear acetate to the back of the "window" which added stability to that large opening, which was cut with A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1.Next, I cut Outside the Box Snow Drifts from Kraft card stock and spattered it with Kraft and Vintage Timber dye inks then added them as shelves to the bottom inside of the box.

Summer Splash card stock was cut with Outside the Box Wave Die-namics, spattered with white craft paint, then Summer Splash and Caribbean Sea dye inks, trimmed so they didn't extend below the window, and adhered as top shelves.

Images were stamped and cut with the coordinating Die-namics. Line images were colored with Copic markers, then added to the bottom shelves using strips of clear acetate. The whale image was adhered to one of the waves. The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics and popped up on foam. A Lemon Chiffon sun was cut with A2 Circle STAX and a few Petite Clouds Die-namics, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock were popped up on foam for the finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Ham It Up on Your Birthday - MFT Color Challenge #168

Hi all, I'm back with the latest
MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's color combo: Princess Pink, Cotton Candy, Prickly Pear, and Milk Chocolate. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I'm still working my way through all the awesome Birdie Brown Product from the latest Vault Release and just knew these piggies would be perfect for this color combo!

To begin, I sponged Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Micro Cloud Edges Stencil and Cotton Candy dye ink through Oval Extraordinaire (I do LOVE this stencil!!) as well as Drifts & Hills Stencil using Prickly Pear dye ink--two challenge colors right there! Then I stamped the sentiment from BB Hog Heaven with Extreme Black hybrid ink and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Next I stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the cupcake again, fussy cut it, and adhered it on the image for little bit of dimension. Once it was popped up on the card front with foam tape it was done!

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Howdy, Howdy, Howdy! MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #547

Howdy, y'all! I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I'm working my way through all the latest MFT Vault Release exclusively devoted to retired Birdie Brown products. Today I'm using Green Pastures Stamp Set and Die-namics.

To begin, I stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black Hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers, right down to her green Wellies. Next I cut Little Notes Sentiment Strips from Black Licorice card stock to get my dimensions, then cut a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock for the largest element. This panel was stenciled with Micro Cloud Edges and Lazy Day dye ink and popped up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

Then I cut Sour Apple card stock with Grassy Hills Die-namics and adhered the two layers to the main panel, one directly and the other popped up on foam, then added the colored image, also with foam. The sentiment was stamped three times on the aforementioned Black Licorice strips and adhered with foam tape as well.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Merci - Color Throwdown Challenge #648

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Today Lynn is our hostess and she's chosen a gorgeous color palette for us to play with!

I hadn't had a chance to play with BB Mon Chéri Stamp Set and Die-namics from the just released Birdie Brown sets in MFT's June Vault Release so I got her out for this card. I began by sponging my late afternoon sky using Spiced Marmalade and Concord Gray Distress Inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. to add more dimension, I added some Sour Apple card stock cut with Grassy Hills Die-namics. Next I spread molding paste on Cement Gray card stock after cutting it with Window Dressing Die-namics and set it aside to dry.

Then I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them all with Copic markers. By this time the background was dry, I completed the "bakery" window and popped the brick element up on foam tape on the card base. The sidewalk was cut from Cement Gray card stock and also adhered with foam tape after the sentiment was stamped on it with Extreme Black hybrid ink.

At this point the only thing left to do was to finish adding the stamped and colored images and it was done! I'd love to be walking down this sidewalk and see that window full of cupcakes, how about you?

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. MFT June Vault Release!

Hey there and welcome to MFT's June Vault Release! It's all available for purchase right now in the MFT Online Boutique!! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details!

My card today uses several set from the Vault release: You Make My Tail Wag, Little Helper, and Up in the Air. To begin, I masked off the left side and sponged the sky, using Lazy Day dye ink and Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. I added some ground with Sour Apple dye ink and Drifts & Hills Stencil.

Next I masked off the right side and applied molding paste through English Brick Wall Stencil. Once dry, I replaced the stencil and sponged with Moroccan Spice dye ink. Then I stamped the tree from Little Helper on No Line Coloring card stock and partially die cut it. I knew I needed to make the tree taller so I hand drew the extension with a Copic black Multiliner, and fussy cut the remainder out. The dog and hydrant from You Make My Tail Wag and the two birds from Up in the Air were likewise stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and cut with the coordinating Die-namics. All images were then colored with Copic markers.

The sidewalk was cut from Cement Gray card stock and popped up on foam. The images were adhered with foam tape and the sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock before also being popped up on foam.

And that's all from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by. Now go shop and I'll see you soon!
