Dad - Color Throwdown Challenge #694

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Amy Rohl is our hostess this week and she's challenging us to a primary-ish color palette based on her super fun inspiration piece.

I'd had this idea percolating around my head for a while and thought these saturated colors would be perfect for it, and also work for a masculine design.

To begin, I cut Lemon Drop, Red Hot, and Summer Splash card stock with Essential Alphabet, Connected, In Stitches Lowercase Alphabet, Bitty Banner Alphabet, Modern Serif Alphabets. I cut all three colors with all the dies so I'd have lots of flexibility when I started arranging the letters.

Next I created a Black Licorice card base and began to lay out my die cuts, arranging and rearranging until I was happy. Some are adhered directly to the card base and larger letters are popped up on foam, to create dimension. Once they were all adhered it was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD694 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd694 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Thank You - Color Throwdown Challenge #693

Hello, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Broni is our hostess and she's chosen a cool palette for us to work with. Hope to see you playing along!

I decided to let a die cut do the talkin' on this card in the form of Thank You Die-namics. I cut Gold Sparkle card stock once and scrap white card stock twice, stacked them with spray adhesive and set it aside.

Next, I did a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor paper using Peerless Watercolors and a water brush. I then spattered with clean water and gold acrylic ink, and once dry, adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape.

The die cut sentiment was adhered directly to the card front and I finished off with some enamel dots.

Hello, it's time! MFT's May Vault Release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration!

These are more of my all-time favorite products! Ring Me Stamp Set and Die-namics bring retro to your craft desk in such a cute way! For today's card, I cut the body of phone from Cotton Candy card stock and assembled it using white floral wire colored black with a Copic marker. I wound it around an orangewood stick to get the spiral and taped the ends to the two parts.

The card base was created by adhering MSTN Pretty In Plaid Patterned Paper to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then added the card front, more Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Number Jumble Background in a distressed manner and popped up on foam tape.

The phone was then also adhered with foam tape and the sentiment from the set stamped on Ripe Raspberry card stock cut with MSTN Say Anything Die-namics. and finished off with some matching enamel dots.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Hello and welcome to Day Two of MFT's May Vault Countdown! Release is in two days, May 17th, at 10am Eastern so make a note! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for ALL the details! Today we're previewing Ring me Stamp Set, Ring Me Die-namics, Happily Ever After Stamp Set (new set), Bride & Groom Die-namics, Abstract Art Stamp Set, Paint Brushes Die-namics, and Typewriter Text Background Stamp.

I could not be more excited about this month's Vault Release! Some of my most favorite products are coming back and I've has SO much fun playing with them! I'm starting the countdown off using Abstract Art Stamp Set and Paintbrushes Die-namics because I could not wait to use them! I used the original ALL the time so get ready to see this one a lot, too!

To begin, I stamped the images on Sweet Tooth card stock using, top to bottom, Fire Coral, Butterscotch, Prickly Pear, and Summer Splash dye inks and stamped the sentiment from All About You Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink before adhering it to a Black Licorice card stock base with foam tape

Next I cut All About You Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and popped it up on foam tape on top of the stamped images. I added some strips of Party Time Patterned Paper and started working on the brushes. The handles were both cut from Black Licorice card stock the ferrules from Silver Shine card stock and the bristles from Sweet Tooth card stock. To add the paint colors, I first added the color with dye ink then added the black back with a Copic marker.

To finish off I added some matching enamel dots and was done!

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Day One of MFT's May Vault Countdown!
