Hello, Beautiful - Color Throwdown Challenge #692

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown! I'm hosting this week and I hope to see LOTS of you playing along! I love this cheerful cake design and chose it for my inspiration piece this week.

To begin, I applied a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor paper, heat embossed the sentiment from Winged Wonders stamp set with gold embossing powder and spattered it with some gold acrylic ink. Once dry, I adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Next, I heat embossed three of the butterflies from the set with gold detail embossing powder on Translucent Vellum, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and applied a watercolor wash matching the background.

Once they were dry, I popped them up on the card front with foam tape and finished up with a few matching glitter enamel dots.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD692 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd692 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there!
