Hello - Color Throwdown Challenge #690

Hello, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week Wanda is our hostess and she's challenging up to a very modern color combo: navy, mustard, and gray. Hope to see lots of you playing along this week!

I used gold instead of mustard but otherwise stuck to the palette and the inspiration piece. I love scattering geometric shapes on a card front and wasn't about to miss this chance.

To begin, I cut several sizes of Stitched Tall Triangle STAX Die-namics from each of the challenge colors. Next, I adhered a trimmed-down Sweet Tooth card stock panel on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape and started arranging my triangles. Once I was pleased with the arrangement, I adhered some down directly to the card front and popped the rest up on foam.

For the sentiment, I cut Sweet Hello Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock and Translucent Vellum, adhered them together, and to the card front with foam tape. I finished off with some enamel dots in the challenge colors. I love how this turned out!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD690 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd690 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

May All Your Birthday Wishes Come True - Color Throwdown Challenge #689

Hello, it's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge!! This week's hostess is Vickie and she's challenging us to a bright and Springy color palette.

I love to color balloons and I thought a sky full of them in these colors would mean a very happy birthday card. To begin, I stamped balloons from BB Beary Special Birthday and BB Birthday Bears stamp sets on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers with white gel pen highlights.

Next I stamped the sentiment on a Sweet Tooth card stock panel and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. The colored images were popped up on the card front, also with foam tape.

To finish off I added some Cloudy with a Chance of Rain Die-namics, also cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and also popped up on foam tape.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. Best Wishes and Bubble Kisses - Color Throwdown Challenge #688

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lynn is out hostess and she's treating us to this decidedly Spring color palette. Hope to see lots of you playing along with us this week!

I decided to use this BB Bubble Over with Joy Stamp Set and Die-namics since I hadn't shown it any love for a while. To begin. I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers.

Next, I created my background by applying Lazy Day dye ink on Sweet Tooth card stock with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, stamped the sentiment, then adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock with foam tape. Then I added several layers of Jalapeño Popper card stock cut with Outside the Box Grassy Hills Die-namics, popped up on foam.

To finish off, I popped the images up on foam tape and it was done!

I hadn't had a chance to use the new MSTN SPECtacular Stamp Set and Die-namics so I took this opportunity to right that wrong, LOL! I really love these specs!! They are WAY cool! To begin, I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers.

I used a couple of papers from Party Time Patterned Paper pack for my back ground then popped the colored images up on foam tape.

The sentiment was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Essential Stitched Sentiment Strips and backed with Colorful Canvas Patterned Paper cut with the same die. This was also popped up on foam and I finished off with some glitter enamel dots.

Final Countdown--One Day Until MFT's April Release!!

Hello and welcome to Day One of MFT's April Release Countdown! Release is tomorrow, April 12th, at 10am Eastern so set your alarm! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for ALL the details! Today we're previewing TI Sweet Senorita Stamp Set, TI Sweet Senorita Die-namics, Better Together Stamp Set, Better Together Die-namics, PI I Need Some Me & You Time Stamp Set, PI I Need Some Me & You Time Die-namics, and Thank You Die-namics.

I love to paper piece these little girls and this one was no exception! You don't see a lot of paper piecing any more but I still love to do it--it offers such a good way to add some realism to an image. I used three different patterned paper packs: MSTN Pretty in Plaid, Colorful Canvas, and Keep Me in Stitches.

The image was stamped on No Line Coloring card stock twice--once for the entire image and once for just the arms and hands, and partially stamped for all three patterned paper areas. I cut the main image with the coordinating Die-namics and colored the head, top, and shoes with Copic markers. The arms and hands were fussy cut and colored, then the patterned paper pieces were fussy cut and adhered with glue, working from back to front, ending with the arms and hands on top.

Next I added some MSTN Pretty in Plaid paper to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I sponged Lazy Day and Cement Gray dye ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper for the background, spattered with clean water and black acrylic ink. Once dry, the sentiment was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink and adhered to the card base with foam tape after tying around some baker's twine. The image was popped up on foam and I finished off with some glitter enamel dots.

And that’s it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the April MFT Release!
