Birthday Balloons - My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #582

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

We have a super fun classic sketch to play with this week--just full of possibilities!

I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base and added a piece of Party Time patterned paper for the fishtail element directly to the base. Next I added more patterned paper backed with Sweet Tooth card stock for strength for the rectangle element. To this I added Balloon Bundle Stamp Set stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and cut with Balloon Bundle Die-namics. It was colored with Copic markers and popped up on foam tape.

The sentiment is from Little Birthday Notes Stamp Set and was heat embossed on Eiffel Tower card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics and also popped up on foam tape. A few glitter enamel dots finished it off.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Hello, Friend - Color Throwdown Challenge #681

Hey there and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week and she has a super sweet color combo for us based on her gorgeous inspiration piece. Hope to see lots of y'all playing along with us this week!

Well, this color combo said flowers to me, of course, and who am I to fight flowers, right? I got out my Flower Silhouette Stamp Set and Flower Silhouettes Die-namics, to which I haven't shown any love lately and which is one of my favorite MFT products, and stamped them up on Sweet Tooth card stock with Cotton Candy, Poppin' Pink, Sour Apple, and Jalapeño Popper dye ink. Once done, I tied them together in a bouquet with some baker's twine and set them aside.

I trimmed a Sweet Tooth card stock card front and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base on which I added some Stripe Splash Patterned Paper. Next I popped the bouquet up on the card front with foam tape along with the partial sentiment from Essential Sentiments Stamp Set stamped on Cotton Candy card stock. The rest of the sentiment was cut from Silver Sparkle card stock with Thank You for Being a Friend Die-namics and likewise popped up on foam. To finish off I added some glitter enamel dots.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD681 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd681 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

We Have the Tweetest Memories - Color Throwdown Challenge #680

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Wanda is bringing us this gorgeous outdoorsy palette to play with this week.

I went pretty outdoorsy with my design today, using these adorable birdies from Tweet Memories Stamp Set and Tweet Memories Die-namics from My Favorite Things Stamps. To begin, I stamped the image on No Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored it with Copic markers in the challenge colors.

Next I created a simple background on Sweet Tooth card stock by sponging Lazy Day dye ink through Oval Extraordinaire Stencil with Micro Cloud Edges Stencil on a Sweet Tooth card stock base. The sentiment was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink, then the colored image was popped up on foam.

From the One You Love the Most - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #580

To begin, I created a background with some MSTN Sweet Plaid Patterned Paper and Silver Shine card stock, adhering it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next, using more patterned paper, backed with scrap card stock for strength, I cut it with Piece of My Heart Die-namics, created a shaker element with clear acetate card stock and foam tape, filled it with matching sequins, silver hearts, and silver lined seed beads and closed it up with Sweet Tooth card stock.

The shaker element was then adhered to the card front and a sentiment, from Straight from the Heart Stamp Set was heat embossed on Translucent Vellum and adhered over the shaker window with clear foam tape.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Celebrate, It's Your Day - Color Throwdown Challenge #679

It's time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week's colors are courtesy of Miss Vickie and I love them!!

I started by doing a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper after heat embossing it in gold with Peacock Pattern Background. Once dry, I spattered it with clean water and black acrylic ink. Once THAT was dry I adhered it with foam to a Sweet Tooth card stock base edged with Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper and piped with Black Licorice and Gold Sparkle card stocks.

Celebrate Die-namics was cut from Gold Sparkle card stock and popped up on foam tape then the sentiment from Bitty Birthday Wishes Stamp Set was heat embossed in white on Black Licorice card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. MFT February Release Is Now Available for Purchase!

Hello, it's time! MFT's November Release is available now for purchase so be sure to head on over to the MFT Online Boutique and shop! And don't forget to stop by the
MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration!

Today I'm using Happy Cake Day Die-namics for my focal point, All-Occasion Scripted Greetings, and MSTN Cue the Confetti Stencil for my background.

Once I cut the cake from Sweet Tooth card stock I added texture with Tsukineko Amplify but I pretty much covered the to with sprinkles, LOL! Once that was dry I added the cake layers, the sprinkles, the the "Happy" picks then set it aside.

The background was stenciled, (see below for card stock and ink colors), the sentiment was heat embossed on the sponged background,  then "piped" with Gold Shine card stock, and adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base, trimmed with MSTN Rainbow Love Patterned Paper. The only thing left to do was to pop the cake up on foam tape for the finish!

And that's it from me for MFT's February Release! Thanks so much for stopping by--now go shop!
