Welcome to the World, Little One - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #535

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Those two rectangle elements suggested one of the BB Polaroid stamps and I went with BB I'll Love You Forever. The image was stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers, and trimmed.

I went with Wallpaper Patterns patterned paper and chose three patterns to use on this card. Once I laid them out I thought the base card needed a little something so I spattered with Fossilized Amber and Broken China Distress reinkers and black acrylic ink. Once dry I added the horizontal element and one Polaroid Shaker Frame Die-namics, adhered directly to the Sweet Tooth card front.

The sentiment was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and also adhered directly. The colored image was framed with another Polaroid Shaker Frame Die-namics and popped up on foam tape.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Believe in Miracles - Color Throwdown Challenge #636

Hello and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Lisa is our hostess this week and she has a gorgeous monochromatic color combo for us to play with.

I immediately thought of this recently-released set from MFT for this card. More Brilliant Butterflies was perfect for the two pinks and Chantilly Cream card stock for the card base completed the challenge colors.

To begin, the lacy part of the butterflies (so beautifully intricate!) was heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder then cut out with the coordinating Die-namics. Placing them back into the card stock from which there were cut and putting it back into my MISTI made short work of stamping the two pinks accurately.

The sentiment, from Have Hope Stamp Set was also heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder on a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock, spattered with gold acrylic ink, and popped up on foam tape on a Chantilly Cream card stock base. Once the butterflies were also adhered with foam tape it was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD636 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd636 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Happy Birthday to You - MFT March Outside the Box Challenge

Everyone has a birthday, and there’s no better way to show the lucky birthday boy or girl that they’re on your mind than with a handmade card. Big days deserve big designs — box cards provide ample space to make your birthday scene dreams come true! This month, party with the design team as they share their birthday box card designs.

MFT Outside the Box products make it SO easy to create box cards--I just love them! For this card I'm using Balloon Besties Stamp Set and Die-namics for up, up in the air birthday fun! To begin, I created my box base using Outside the Box, Outside the Box Level Up, and Outside the Box Clouds, all cut from Sweet Tooth card stock.

Party Plaids Patterned Paper was used as accents and to set the color theme and the cloud background was done with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Broken China Distress Ink, then all the box components were assembled with Scor-Tape.

Images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers and were attached to the clouds with strips of clear acetate card stock. To finish off, the sentiment was heat embossed on Tropical Teal card stock cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics.

And there you have it! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Birthday - MFT Color Challenge #162

Hi all, I'm back with the latest
MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's color combo: Lemon Chiffon, Limelight, Fire Coral, and Eiffel Tower. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

Every time I read the name "Fire Coral" I just smile--I love that name! And also the color--it is gorgeous! To begin this card, I sponged some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Lemon Chiffon, Limelight, and Fire Coral dye inks, then cut it out with Happy Birthday Script Die-namics.

To create my background I stamped Happy Birthday Background on Sweet Tooth card stock with Eiffel Tower dye ink, then adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

To create my shaker element, I cut A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics from Eiffel Tower card stock, adhered clear acetate card stock on the back, and used foam tape for the dam. To make it possible to adhere it to the card front. I left off about 1" of the foam tape on one side, adhered the rest, and poured the seed beads through that 1" opening.

After plugging the opening up with a 1" piece of foam tape it was done! To complete my design, I simply adhered the sponged die cut to the front.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Happy Birthday - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #534

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This sketch made me think a bit but finally I came up with this design. To begin, I cut Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Slimline Starter Die-namics then sponged Big Balloons Stencil with Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon. Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint, Broken China, Stormy Sky, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks, then spattered it with black acrylic ink and a small art brush, then hand-drew in the strings.

Hand-Lettered Happy Birthday and Captions Alphabet Die-namics were cut from Black Licorice card stock--Captions Alphabet six times--and adhered to the card front, which was then adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Sending You a Long Distance Hug - Color Throwdown Challenge #635

Hey there and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Susie is our hostess and she has chosen some Easter-ish colors to tempt us with. They look yummy, don't they??

I thought "rainbows!" when I first saw this color combo and thought there was no need to look or think further. I love MFT's Happy Rainbows Die-namics so got them out and started playing.

To begin, I sponged Broken China Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, stamped the sentiment from I Miss Your Hugs Stamp Set with Extreme Black hybrid ink then adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Happy Rainbows Die-namics was cut from Ranger Watercolor paper, colored with Peerless Watercolors and a water brush, spattered with black acrylic ink when dry, then adhered to the card front--some directly and some stacked with white card stock die cuts and then adhered for dimension.

I thought it needed just a little something else, so I added glitter enamel dots in the challenge colors to finish off.

I'll say it again--this is probably my all-time favorite MFT Card Kit!!! I have had SO much fun playing with it and look forward to using it many more times in the future,

For today's card I started by sponging Broken China Distress Ink through Basket Weave Stencil on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper along with Pumice Stone Distress Ink for the "grounding" area, then adhered that to a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

Next I stamped the images on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. The cat is lying on Cat & Plant Perches Die-namics, created by stamping Wood Plank Background on Cement Gray card stock with Kraft dye ink.

The sentiment was stamped on the card front with Extreme Black hybrid ink, then all the images were arranged and popped up on foam for the finish!

And that's it from me today--thanks so much for stopping by! Now go shop!

See you soon!
