MFTWSC409_2018oct31

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. MFT_WSC_409

I decided to make that angled element a ski slope for this set that I needed to show some love. First I sponged Salty Ocean Distress Ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper and splattered some clean water on it for my background, then I added the bottom panel, cut from Sweet Tooth card stock with Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics and popped it up on foam tape.

MFTWSC409_2018oct31b

Then I stamped the images, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored them with Copic markers, and popped them up with foam tape. I added lots of trees from Mountain High Die-namics and finished off with the heat embossed sentiment. Fun!

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Happy Holidays–Color Throwdown Challenge #517

CTD517_2018oct31

Hey, everyone, welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week our hostess is Lori and she’s challenging us to this interesting color combo based on her inspiration piece.

swatch517

I say interesting because it uses orange and red so after a little brainstorming about it I came up with this serene winter scene for another Christmas card. I started by sponging Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Spiced Marmalade Ranger Distress Inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper for my background. Then I added Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and Birch Trees Die-namics sponged with Kraft dye ink and backed with strips of Kraft card stock, some popped up on foam, some not.

CTD517_2018oct31b

I stamped the sentiment from Trio of Trees Stamp Set with Black Licorice dye ink and cut two cardinals from Delightful Deer Die-namics—one male and one female, which worked brilliantly with the color scheme. I popped them up on small bits of foam on branches and was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD517 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd517 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! MFT October Hits & Highlights Feature–Merry & Bright

hitsandhighlights_2018oct30

With the Christmas season approaching quickly, we’re bringing some merry and some bright to your computer today. We’ve challenged our designers to feature products that include “merry” in the name or to add some brightness to their projects with their favorite lights. You’ll surely be inspired to tackle your own holiday cards after checking out their creations!

Print

I gave this challenge a literal and figurative interpretation. I’m using Merry & Bright Paper Pack down the side of my card which set my color scheme, plus, I used gold and glitter for real brightness. And who can doubt that that darling puppy is merry, all tangled up in those bright Christmas lights?

After adhering the strip of patterned paper on my card base, I created a shaker element on another panel of Sweet Tooth card stock, filled with Gold Shimmer Seed Beads and lots of Christmas lights, stamped, colored, and fussy cut out. I added a circle of Gold Shine card stock and Merry Christmas Circle Frame cut from Holly Jolly Glitter Card Stock

hitsandhighlights_2018oct30b

I stamped the sentiment from BB Happy Pawlidays, popped it up on foam on the card base, then stamped the puppy image, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored it with Copic markers, and popped it up on the card front for the finish!

And that’s it from me—love this month’s theme! Be sure to stop by the
MFT Blog to see what some of my team mates have for you today. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Celebrate the Day–MFT Color Challenge #104

MFTCPC104_2018oct25

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Tropical Teal, Persimmon, Lemon Drop, and Limelight. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This color combo definitely said Halloween to me but I’m over that for this year, so I went with birthday balloons! I started by adding a strip of Dots & Stripes Brights Paper Pack down the side of a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then popped up a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock after stamping the sentiment from Bundle of Balloons Stamp Set with Steel Gray dye ink.

MFTCPC104_2018oct25b

Next I cut Bundle of Balloons Die-namics from No-Line Coloring Card Stock and colored them in the challenge colors with Copic markers. I popped them up on foam after drawing in strings with a gold pen. Then I cut Hooray Die-namics from Gold Shine card stock and twice with Steel Gray card stock, adhered them together, and after adhering them to the card front, finished off with some enamel dots.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Warmest Wishes–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #408

MFTWSC408_2018oct24

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_408

I thought that circle was a perfect spot to put a Layered Snowflake Die-namics so that’s what I did! To begin, I added some strips of Candy Land Paper Pack on a Sweet Tooth card stock base with some Silver Sparkle card stock as “piping”, then popped up another piece of Sweet Tooth card stock as my card front, with a sentiment from Snow Globe Sentiments heat embossed with silver detail embossing powder.

MFTWSC408_2018oct24b

I cut the snowflake layers from Sweet Tooth and Berrylicious card stocks and adhered them together with hot glue. For the horizontal element, I cut Silver Sparkle card stock with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics and Heavyweight Translucent Vellum with Hearts in a Row – Horizontal Die-namics, trimmed them to the length I wanted, adhered them together and popped them up on foam tape on the card front. Next I adhered the assembled snowflake and finished off with some Silver Sprinkles.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the

Season’s Greetings–Color Throwdown Challenge #516

CTD516_2018oct24

Hello and welcome to a new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Lisa is our hostess and she has a fun combo for us based on her super fun inspiration piece.

swatch516

Well, yes, I did use these Delightful Deer Die-namics AGAIN, LOL! I really do love them and they just worked with these colors perfectly. I stenciled my background with Drifts & Hills Stencil and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink on a Sweet Tooth card stock base then stamped the bare trees from Modern Trees Stamp Set with Hot Fudge dye ink. The sentiment is from Trio of Trees Stamp Set and was stamped with Black Licorice dye ink. Then I added a Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Frame Die-namics cut from Black Licorice card stock and popped up on foam tape

CTD516_2018oct24b

The deer were cut from Primitive White card stock and sponged with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink then I added some white dots on the fawn with Copic Opaque White. The tail accent was also cut from Primitive White card stock, then the deer were popped up on foam tape for the finish.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the

Festive Flamingos–MFT October Card Kit, Countdown Day Two

cardkitday2_2018oct22

Hello and welcome to Day Two of MFT’s October Card Kit Countdown. In addition to the card kit, we’re releasing a stamp set and Die-namics from a new designer that you might already be familiar with: Stacey Yacula. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for all the details.

OK, I am in LOVE with this stamp set!! I adore the retro look and feel of the images! They are just too cute for words! I’m also using the Mid-Month Free with $60 die: Happy Christmas Die-namics. I chose to use it as a shaker element and I love how this turned out.

First, I sponged some Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink for the background and sprinkled it with some clear water. After it dried I cut it with Happy Christmas Die-namics and created my shaker element with Heat Resistant Acetate, foam tape, and Sparkling Clear Snowflake Sequins and Silver Shimmer Seed Beads for the filler., then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

cardkitday2_2018oct22b

I added Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics with the sentiment stamped on the bottom and stamped the images from Sweet Holiday Penguins, along with the trees from Cool Christmas Stamp Set & Die-namics, on No Line Coloring Card Stock, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. I added some white putty paint to the Santa hats, popped them up on foam in the scene, and was done!

Thanks so very much for stopping by today! See you back tomorrow for the release of Festive Flamingos Card Kit!
