Sending You a Long Distance Hug - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #552

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s
MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I thought this nice large rectangle was perfect for a little rainbow scene. To begin, I laid down some patterned paper from MSTN Rainbow Plaid Paper Pack then added a Sweet Tooth card stock panel on which I sponged Lazy Day dye ink using Micro Cloud Edges Stencil, popped up on foam tape.

Next I cut out Happy Rainbows Die-namics using Ripe Raspberry, Orange Zest, Sour Apple, Summer Splash, and Blue Yonder card stocks and popped it up on foam as well. Before I adhered it, though, I directly adhered a sun, cut from Butterscotch card stock with A2 Circle STAX Die-namics.

The sentiment is from Good Vibes Only Stamp Set and was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock, then adhered with foam tape.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Happy Birthday Candles - Color Throwdown Challenge #653

Hey there and welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Miss Broni is our hostess this week and she has some bright and summery colors for us to work with so I hope you'll join us!

I thought these bright colors would look good on a black background and I was right--they just pop!! I'm using the just-released Celebrate You card kit from MFT for this card--I am in love with that darling little banner!!

First up, I created the banner cut from Smooth White card stock using Poppin' Pink, Candied Yam, Butterscotch, and Sour Apple dye inks and strung them on some baker's twine with foam tape. At first I was going to stamp the candles but then remembered Stripe Splash Patterned Paper and it was a no-brainer! The candles were cut from colors coordinating with my ink choices and the flames from Butterscotch card stock.

I'm using Sweet Tooth card stock for the card base and Black Licorice card stock stock for the card front. Before adhering the card front to the base with foam tape, I heat embossed the sentiment from Celebrate You Stamp Set, then once it was adhered I added the banner, also on foam tape. The candles were adhered at the bottom, some directly and some up on foam tape, as well.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword #CTD653 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd653 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!

Celebrate You, MFT's July Card Kit, Releases Tomorrow!

Hi there and welcome to Day One Countdown for Celebrate You, MFT's July Card Kit. Release is tomorrow, July 27, at 10am Eastern so don't miss it! And be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details.

I love these party hats from It's Your Day Stamp Set and Die-namics so I decided to make them the focus of today's card. To begin, and on a Sweet Tooth card stock base, I adhered a border of Party Time Patterned Paper. Next I cut a shorter panel of Smooth White card stock for the card front and sponged Summer Splash dye ink through Watercolor Wash Square Stencil, and leaving the stencil in place, spattered with black acrylic ink.

The sentiment from It's Your Day Stamp Set was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink and the panel adhered to the card base with foam tape. Next I stamped the hats, using some of the card kit colors on Smooth White card stock and to add some dimension, created some fuzz around the bottom and a pom pom on top using Amplify texture foam.

Once this was heated and set, the party hats were popped up on foam on the card front and I finished off with some matte enamel dots.

And there you have it from me today! Thank so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the release of Celebrate You, MFT's July Card Kit!

With Gratitude - MFT Color Challenge #170

Hi all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here's this week's color combo: Sour Apple, Butterscotch, Candied Yam, and Gravel Gray. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This color combo really spoke to me because it has a Fall vibe--I love Fall and can't wait for it to arrive! To that end, I got out Falling Leaves Die-namics and got to work cutting card stock in the challenge colors. Once I had enough cut, I started sponging the edges with the same colors of dye ink, mixing it up to try to simulate nature.

Once the sponging was done and dried, I slightly watered down some Gravel Gray dye ink and spattered them lightly. Then I arranged them in a wreath shape on the front of a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Once I had it laid out like I wanted, I pencil-drew a circle using A2 Circle STAX as a guide while I adhered the leaves with hot glue.

For the sentiment, I cut Elegant Folded Banner Die-namics from Gravel Gray card stock and heat embossed the sentiment, from Bitty Thanks and Gratitude Stamp Set and adhered it to the wreath, also with hot glue.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Celebrate - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #551

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

This one threw me for a little bit--until I looked through my dies to see what I had that would work. Easy peasy! Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips and Skinny Strips Die-namics did all the heavy lifting on this card!

I started by cutting a variety of sizes from Stripe Splash Patterned Paper and Fire Coral, Limelight, and Butterscotch card stocks and arranged them on a Sweet Tooth card stock panel until I was happy. I added a strip of Black Licorice at the top, first, then adhered the fishtails--some directly and some on foam. To complete the sketch, I added a strip of Black & White Stripes Patterned Paper across the top.

Then I stamped an image from Bunch of Happiness Stamp Set on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut it out with the coordinating Die-namics and colored it with Copic markers. A sentiment from the set was stamped at the bottom of the card front then it was adhered to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. The colored image was popped up on foam and Celebrate Die-namics, cut from Black Licorice card stock was added at the top.

And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
