I’m so Hoppy for You–MFT April Hits & Highlights: Spin, Slide and Leap with Interactive Dies
Hello there and welcome to the April issue of MFT’s Hits & Highlights! Today we’re making things Spin, Slide and Leap with Interactive Dies.
I chose to use Toad-ally Awesome Stamp Set and Die-namics and Leaping Slider Channels Die-namics so I could make the adorable froggy leap from lily pad to lily pad :)
I used Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blue Breeze Premium Dye ink for the sky, created a watercolor wash “pond”, stamped the image on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink and colored it with Copic markers. The lily pads were cut from Gumdrop Green card stock and I added some Copic marker accents. I used the smaller die from Leaping Slider Channel Die-namics, Slider Elements for the mechanism and raised the frog up on a strip of clear acetate card stock so he’d clear the popped up “pond”.
Here’s a little video showing leaping from pad to pad:
Here’s the far right position—I used foam tape as stops because even the smallest channel let him go further than I wanted him to.
I finished off with a heat embossed sentiment, some Puffy Clouds Die-namics and a sun cut from Lemon Drop card stock with Circle STAX Set 1.
And that’s it! This was fun! Thanks so much for stopping by today! See you soon!

Sending Handmade Hugs–MFT Color Challenge #116
Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Blu Raspberry, Coral Crush, Limelight, and Cotton Candy. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.
I wanted to make this card super simple so I got out Big Hugs Die-namics and started looking through my Paper Packs to see if I could find all four colors in one pattern. I found them in the two Tiny Checks collections so it was all good! I cut each letter out with a challenge color and affixed foam mounting tape to the backs. On a Sweet Tooth card stock panel I laid my letters out to figure out where to stamp the sentiment, from Lots of Hugs Stamp Set and stamped it with Black Licorice dye ink.
To continue the homespun theme, I used three of the Homespun Stitch Lines Die-namics—because gingham and stitching is perfect for this, amiright? I popped that panel up on a Sweet Tooth card base with foam tape, adhered the letters, and finished off with some enamel dots! Love it!
And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!
Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Picket Fence First Anniversary Blog Hop!
Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to be participating in the First Anniversary Celebration for Picket Fence Designs and I’m especially excited to be kicking it off!
I’m using the adorable Cali Kitten Stamp Set for my card today and I decided to try to color her like her namesake with watercolors. First I stamped the image with waterproof ink on watercolor paper then proceeded to color her. My inspiration was one of my beloved cats, who was a dilute tortoiseshell so I went with the lighter shades. I finished off by stamping the sentiment, which, if you’re a cat person like me, you know is all too true :)
Once she was colored, I popped her up on foam mounting tape on a card base that was covered with tiny black and white polka dot patterned paper, added some white hairs to her ears with a white gel pen, and she was done. I thought CAS was the best way to go with this darling little girl.
Now for some news you’ll definitely want to hear: I’ve been provided with a generous coupon code to share with you that is good for three (3) days from the date of this post. It gives you a 20% discount in the ENTIRE STORE so go for it! The code is PFS20 and is case sensitive.

4. as soon as the winner is chosen he or she will be announced on my blog, a general announcement that a winner is chosen will be made on my social media, and I will attempt to notify the winner via email.
5. no response after 24 hours of the time of my email automatically means I do another drawing with the same rules. I will not hunt you down.

Sending Rainbows & Hearts–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #434
Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.
Well, I must say this was an interesting sketch ;-) And a bit of a challenge, but once I ignored the circles and just saw them as elements I could imagine other things in those spots—other things like clouds :) This card is a variation of one I did a while back with the same sentiment.
So, first of all I created my background with Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Blue Breeze dye ink, stamped the sentiment from Rainbows & Unicorns Stamp Set, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I cut End of the Rainbow Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock and colored each strip (really cuts down on wasting card stock), taped them together on the back, and adhered it to the card front with foam tape.
The accompanying cloud and two from Stitched Clouds Die-namics were cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and adhered, as well. To finish off I added a heart to each cloud, cut from Wild Cherry card stock with Tag Builder Blueprints 5.
And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!
Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Thank You–Color Throwdown Challenge #540
Hello, everyone, welcome to another Color Throwdown Challenge! Our hostess this week is Wanda, who has some YUMMY colors for us to work with!
I decided flowers were the way to go with these colors and since it had been a while since I showed Stitched Flowers and Stitched Blooms Die-namics any love it was time to get them out. I started by sponging some Lemon Chiffon dye ink through Sunrise Radiating Rays Stencil and then stamped a sentiment from Brushstroke Expressions on it after marking off where the frame would hit with pencil. Then I cut A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics from Silver Sparkle card stock and created a shaker element with the stenciled and stamped panel as the backing, then popped that whole thing up on foam on the card base.
Next I cut a bunch of flowers in the challenge colors, assembled them, and adhered them with hot glue to the framed shaker element.
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD540 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd540 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, along with our super talented Guest Designer, Lee Ann Barrett!

Flower Silhouette--MFT April Card Kit Release!
Hi everyone! MFT’s April Card Kit, Flower Silhouettes, is now available for purchase in the MFT Online Boutique! Head on over to the MFT Blog for all the details and more inspiration from the MFT Design Team!
I went back to the traditional silhouette for today’s project and created an anniversary card. I stamped up a bunch of images and cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, arranged them to fit in Vase Die-namics, and adhered the stems together.
Then I stamped Sweet Tooth card stock with Romantic Script Background in a distressed manner, splattered it with some gold acrylic ink, matted it with Gold Shine card stock, and popped it up on a Black Licorice card stock base. Next I popped up the flower arrangement in it’s vase and added a heat embossed sentiment from Essential Sentiments Stamp Set. To finish off, I added some gold glitter enamel dots.
And that’s it from me! Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Flower Silhouette--MFT April Card Kit, Countdown Day Two
Hello and welcome to Day Two of MFT’s April Card Kit, Flower Silhouette. Release is tomorrow, April 23rd at 10am Eastern so set you clocks! And don’t forget to stop by the MFT Blog to get all the details and see more samples from the MFT Design Team.
The definition of a silhouette is “the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible against a lighter background, especially in dim light.” Today, though, I chose to shake that up a bit and give you an idea for stretching your Flower Silhouette Stamp Set with color. To do this, I simply heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock with white detail embossing powder and colored the embossed areas with Copic markers. You don’t have to worry too much about your level of coloring expertise and it’s fast! I cut the images out with the coordinating Die-namics before I colored them so the coloring wouldn’t be marred.
To construct my card, I added a strip of Black & White Dots Paper pack and a sweet little shaker element with a sentiment from LJD Birthday Greetings inside. Once that was all assembled I simply added my flowers using hot glue and foam tape.
And there you have it for Day Two of MFT’s April Card Kit, Flower Silhouettes. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the card kit release!

Flower Silhouette--MFT April Card Kit, Countdown Day One
Hello and welcome to Day One of MFT’s April Card Kit, Flower Silhouette! Release is on April 23rd at 10am Eastern so make a note. And be sure to check by the MFT Blog for all the details.
I love the look of Versamark on Kraft card stock for a very subtle design, perfect for that all-too-necessary sympathy card. So that’s how I began this card, using my MISTI and stamping images until I was happy with it. Once that was done I stamped the sentiment from Deepest Sympathy with Extreme Black hybrid ink.
Next I adhered a strip of Black & White Stripes Paper Pack to a Sweet Tooth card stock base and adhered the stamped and trimmed panel on it with foam tape. I completed the card by heat embossing the rest of the sentiment on a narrow strip of Black Licorice card stock and adhering it directly to the card front.
And that’s it from me for Day One of MFT’s April Card Kit, Flower Silhouette. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for Day Two!
