Happy Birthday - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #448

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I wanted to do something besides just stripes for that corner element so I thought if I went with a birthday theme I could use bows—like a gift package, KWIM? I think it works. So, working directly on a Sweet Tooth card stock base, I cut Stitched Beautiful Bows Die-namics from three patterns of Over the Rainbow Paper Pack and adhered them strips of the same paper in that corner.

To fill in the space below, I sponged Pineapple, Orange Zest, and Razzle Berry dye inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper in a fade pattern and cut Happy Birthday Script from it and twice from scrap white card stock. I adhered them together with spray adhesive and adhered them to the card front, along with a few clear sequins to finish off.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

I Believe in You–Color Throwdown Challenge #554

Hello and welcome back to a new
Color Throwdown Challenge! This week Amy Rohl is our hostess and she has given us a classic color palette to work with.

All I could think of when I saw these color was flowers, LOL! So I got out the recently released Flowers in Bloom Stamp Set and Die-namics ‘cause I thought they would look good in red :) I stamped them on No Line Coloring Card Stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut them out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored them with Copic markers. I added a Sweet Tooth card stock panel, popped up on foam tape, to a Kraft card stock card base then adhered some Black & White Stripes Paper Pad for some contrast.

Then I adhered the flowers with foam tape and added the sentiment, from Anything-but-Basic Encouragement Stamp Set, heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Fishtail Flag Trio Die-namics, also adhered with foam tape.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD554 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd554 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our amazing July Guest Designer, Susie Moore!

Happy Drunk! Let's Get Birthday - MFT July Hits & Highlights

This month, we're celebrating our birthday and what better way to do that than keep the party going with projects featuring the July release and the newest card kit, Let's Toast (with a Twist)!

I created a shaker card by cutting the wine glass from Let’s Toast Die-namics twice in a Sweet Tooth card stock panel. I added clear acetate card stock for the window and stamped the sentiment from Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings 2 and Distressed Patterns Stamp sets. I used a tube from hemp cord to “stamp” the glass rings.

I built the shaker dams with foam tape and filled them with tiny seed beads and closed it up with Sweet Tooth card stock. I finished up by adhering the whole thing to a Sweet Tooth Card Stock base.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

Prayers Going Up–MFT Color Challenge #122

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Wild Wisteria, Coral Crush, Persimmon, and Cement Gray. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

I thought these colors would work for a peaceful sunset sky so I used Wild Wisteria, Coral Crush, and Persimmon dye inks on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper for it and adhered it to a Sweet Tooth card stock base with foam tape. For the sentiment I cut Prayers Die-namics three times from Cement Gray card stock and stacked them with spray adhesive then heat embossed part of a sentiment from Sending Prayers Stamp Set on Translucent Vellum, cut with Skinny Strips Die-namics, and adhered both to the card front.

I cut Cute Cloud Outlines Die-namics from Sweet Tooth card stock and Translucent Vellum, adhered them and finished off with enamel dots in the challenge colors.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
