I created a winter scene for my card today. I started by sponging the sky with Peach Bellini dye ink and Ripe Raspberry dye ink, then with Drifts & Hills Stencil and Cement Gray dye ink, I did the snow drifts. The sentiment is from Hand-Lettered Holiday and was stamped with Black Licorice dye ink then the panel was popped up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base.

MFTCPC102_2018sep27b

Then, using Cement Gray Hybrid ink, I stamped a bunch of trees from BB Beast Friend Stamp Set, colored them with Copic markers, fussy cut them out and popped them up on the card front with foam tape. To finish I added a few Puffy Clouds Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Sending Prayers Your Way–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #404

MFTWSC404_2018sep26

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_404

I went kind of CAS with my card today. I started with a Stone Gray card stock base, then cut the center panel from Sweet Tooth card stock and stamped it with Bundles of Blossoms Background which I popped up on the base with foam tape. I cut Prayers Die-namics from Blu Raspberry card stock three times, stacked it, and adhered it to the stamped background panel—I left the tail of the “y” and the loop of the “r” loose so I could slip the stamped strips under them.

MFTWSC404_2018sep26b

Then I heat embossed the stamped sentiment and adhered it and finished off with some Swimming Pool Sprinkles. I love how this turned out!

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

You’ve Stolen My Heart–Color Throwdown Challenge #512

CTD512_2018sep26

Welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! I’m the hostess this week and my colors are based on this photo that I took in Cornwall this summer.

swatch512

I’m using Friendly Raccoons Stamp Set and Die-namics from MFT’s September Release. I stenciled the background using Mini Cloud Edges and Berrylicious dye ink applied with a sponge dauber. I popped that up on foam on a Stone Gray Card Stock base and built my scene using Grassy Hills Die-namics and Puffy Clouds Die-namics along with the adorable raccoon and the trees from the set.

CTD512_2018sep26b

The sentiment was heat embossed on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips and I finished off with a heart cut from Silver Sparkle card stock with Blueprints 32 Die-namics.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. Filled with Joy–MFT September Card Kit, Countdown Day 2

cardkitday2_2018sep24

I decided to play off the sentiment and used Sheet Music Background for the, well, background ;-) I stamped it with Black Licorice dye ink on Sweet Tooth card stock, cut the shaker window, and created the shaker with some Silver Shimmer Seed Beads, closed it up, and popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base. I made an ornament out of the shaker and popped up the J & Y on foam tape so they’d be the same height.

cardkitday2_2018sep24b

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock cut with Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics and heat embossed with Silver Detail embossing powder. I matted it with Birthday Blowout Paper Pack cut with the same Die-namics and popped it up on foam. To finish off I used some Sprinkles.

And there you have it from me today. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow for the Release of Filled with Joy Card Kit!

For my card today I used the snowflake die to guide my theme I started by cutting the center with the mid-month Free with $60 die, Mini Circle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics then I dry embossed with Radiating Rays Stencil. I did it in this order because if I’d embossed first, it would have been flattened when I cut the circle. Then I cut one pouch from Circle Trio Shaker Pouches inserted it, filled it with Silver Shimmer Seed Beads and Aquamarine Seed Beads and closed it up. I popped it up on the Sweet Tooth card stock base with fun foam. Often dry embossing will warp the panel and adhering to fun foam and then the base will flatten it out beautifully.

cardkitday1_2018sep23b

Next I cut the shaker frame, the snowflake, and the letters from Silver Sparkle card stock and adhered them—the letters popped up on foam tape. Then I heat embossed the sentiment on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips, also popped up on foam, and finished off with some Silver Glitter Sprinkles. This CAS card was fairly quick to make once I had it designed so it would be a good candidate for mass production.

And that’s it from me for Day One of MFT’s September Card Kit, Filled with Joy. Thanks so much for stopping by—see you back tomorrow for Day Two!

Happy Birthday to You–MFT September Birthday Project Challenge

birthdayproject_2018sep20a

Slide, spin, and wobble your way to birthday card perfection with this month’s challenge. Add an interactive element to surprise your recipient with an unexpected twist on a traditional look. Check out what our team has done and then, get busy creating your own interactive masterpiece!

I decided to make a Magic Slider Card for this challenge using PI Happy Birthday to You Stamp Set. First I stamped the image with Extreme Black hybrid ink on No-Line Coloring card stock and colored it with Copic markers. Next I stamped the image on Heat Resistant Acetate with StazOn Jet Black ink, using a stamp positioner to line up the two images perfectly.

birthdayproject_2018sep20b

I created a frame with Stitched Rectangle Frames cut from Sweet Celebration Paper Pack and adhered the StazOn stamped image directly to it’s back, then adhered the colored image to with foam tape, lining two images up perfectly. This created a pocket into which I could slide a plain Sweet Tooth card stock panel. This was adhered to the card base directly.

birthdayproject_2018sep20c

I cut the top of the Sweet Tooth panel with File Folder Edges Die-namics and stamped the sentiment from Interactive Labels Stamp Set. As you pull the panel out, the colored image seems to “emerge”, thus the magic :) To finish off I heat embossed the sentiment on Black Licorice card stock cut with Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips, popped up on foam.

And that’s it from me! Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to check out what the rest of the team has at the
MFT Challenge & Inspiration Blog and we hope you’ll play along!

Blessings–MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #403

MFTWSC403_2018sep19

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFT_WSC_403

If you saw my post on Day Three of MFT’s September Release you saw I posted a video showing how I do my alcohol ink backgrounds. The background I created ended up being used on this card so I’m posting the video again if you want to see.

For today’s card, I started with a Primitive Cream card stock base. Then I matted some Primitive White card stock with Gold Shine card stock, cut my background to fit the diagonal element of the sketch, and adhered them all together before popping them up on the base with foam tape. I stamped the pumpkins from BB Witch Way Is the Candy? Stamp Set with Kraft Hybrid ink, colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut them out.

MFTWSC403_2018sep19b

I adhered them to the rectangle element (which was popped up on foam) along with some Fab Foliage Die-namics cut from Sour Apple, Tangy Orange, and Jellybean Green card stock using hot glue. To finish, I cut Blessed & Blessings Die-namics from Gold Shine card stock and twice from Primitive White card stock, adhered together in a stack and then above the pumpkins, and was done.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $50 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!

Color Throwdown Challenge #511–With Sympathy

CTD511_2018sep19

Welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Amy Rysavy is our hostess this week and she has a gorgeous palette for us to work with based on her equally gorgeous inspiration piece.

swatch511

I could only see roses when I first went to work on this card and, happily, I have some Die-namics from MFT that helped me out with that :) I started with a Stone Gray card stock base, stamped the sentiment from Brushstroke Expressions Stamp Set, and cut some Sweet Tooth card stock with Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die-namics, and popped it up on the base with foam tape.

CTD511_2018sep19b

Then I cut and assembled Rolled Rose Die-namics and Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics from Peach Bellini, Tickled Pink, and Wild Cherry card stocks and Fab Foliage and Grand Greenery Die-namics from Sour Apple and Gumdrop Green card stocks and started to design my “bouquet”. After I had it arranged like I wanted, I adhered everything down with hot glue. To finish off I added some Sprinkles in the challenge colors and was done!

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the
