Hey, there, it’s Wednesday so that means it’s Color Throwdown time! This week, the amazing Broni has challenged us to a yummy color combo, based on her equally yummy inspiration piece:
As usual, I pawed through my patterned paper until I found something that would work ;-) This paper is from an OLD Basic Grey collection and it’s perfect! Or nearly so and that’s good enough!
First, I cut a Die-namics Dizzy Doily Duo from Whip Cream card stock. Next, I cut some Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX strips from patterned paper and adhered them. I then cut a Die-namics Circle STAX die cut and stamped the sentiment, from DC Have Hope. This set was intended for Breast Cancer Awareness but several of the sentiments can be used for anyone who is fighting for their lives, either physically or emotionally. And that’s what this card is for—a friend who is in a tough personal fight. I hope it gives her a bit of encouragement and lets her know I love her.
OK, enough sap, LOL! I stamped the sentiment with Kraft ink and popped the circle up on foam. Next, I added a Die-namics Medium Leafy Flourish and topped it with a Die-namics Upsy Daisy flower. For the flower center I used a Lemon Drop button tied with hemp cord. To finish off the card, I adhered a few Copic-colored gems.
Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set:
And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD231 so we can see your beauty all in one place. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week!
