Hi, there, welcome to the first MFT Color Challenge of 2015!
In case you missed the announcement last week, both the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge and the MFT Color Challenge have moved to a new MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog, hosted by none other than the fabulous Susan Opel! Susan has assembled an awesome team to lead us in the challenges. Best yet, there will be TWO color challenges each month instead of just one as it was previously :)
Here’s this week’s color combo: Tropical Teal, Persimmon, Lemon Drop, and Limelight. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team, along with the MFT Design Team, will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.
These tropical colors just said BUTTERFLIES to me so I didn’t fight it ;-) I started with a Grout Gray card stock base. On a piece of trimmed-down Sweet Tooth card stock I applied some embossing paste through Grid stencil, then cut a Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics from Grout Gray card stock on which I stamped a sentiment from MPD Winged Beauties with Versamark then heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I popped that up on foam mounting tape and adhered a
Fancy Flourish Die-namics cut from Limelight card stock with a Quickie Glue Pen. From Sweet Tooth card stock, I cut MPD Winged Beauties Die-namics and stamped them with the coordinating images from MPD Winged Beauties with Tropical Teal dye ink, Persimmon dye ink, and Lemon Drop dye ink. I popped them up on bits of foam mounting tape and it was done.
On the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the set with Steel Gray dye ink on layers of Grout Gray card stock and Sweet Tooth card stock cut with Blueprints 5 Die-namics and Blueprints 20 Die-namics.
And that’s it from me today! Thank you SO much for stopping by! See you soon!
