Are you ready to shop?! MFT January Release is NOW, at the MFT Store! All the goodies we’ve been showing you are now available for purchase!

I have four cards to show you using one of the new cling rubber backgrounds: Damask Background. To say I love this stamp is a gross understatement—I can’t stop using it and I’m sure you’ll be seeing it on my blog a lot in the future. So elegant, but so versatile, too.

My first card starts with a Grout Gray card stock base. Next is Sweet Tooth card stock stamped with Damask Background and Black Licorice ink with a panel of Sweet Tooth card stock dry embossed with Staggered Hearts stencil. That was popped up on foam mounting tape on the base as was the sentiment strip, made of Black Licorice card stock with a sentiment from LJD All My Love stamped with Sweet Tooth pigment ink and heat embossed with clear detail embossing powder. Two hearts, cut from LJD All My Love Die-namics and stamped with images from LJD All My Love using Cherry Crisp dye ink, were popped up on the strip.

Sentiments from Smitten With You were stamped on the inside with Cherry Crisp dye ink and Black Licorice dye ink on layers cut with Blueprints 20 Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock and Sweet Tooth card stock

My second card uses Damask Background for embossing.

NPL2_2015jan6

This card started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I stamped more Sweet Tooth card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Ranger. Here’s a close up showing how well the background stamped.

I popped that up on foam mounting tape with a strip of Black Licorice card stock at the bottom and stamped the sentiment, from Smitten With You, with Black Licorice dye ink and Cherry Crisp dye ink. Next I layered a bunch of LJD All My Love Die-namics hearts, cut from Black Licorice card stock and platinum glitter paper in a random fashion. Finally, I added a larger heart cut from Cherry Crisp card stock on top.

More sentiments from Smitten With You were stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink and Cherry Crisp dye ink on Blueprints 20 Die-namics layers.

My third card was so much fun to water color!

NPL3_2015jan6

I started with a Black Licorice card stock base. Next, on a piece of water color paper and with a water brush, I applied Steel Gray dye ink through Love Stencil. I then splattered it with clear water and gold mist, matted it with gold metallic card stock, stamped the sentiment, from Smitten With You in Black Licorice dye ink, tied around some gold cord, and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape. I stamped up some Sweet Tooth card stock with Damask Background and Ripe Raspberry dye ink, cut a heart from Pierced Heart STAX Die-namics, and adhered it to the stenciled heart. Some gold sequins and clear gems finished it off.

A sentiment from MSTN I Love You More was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice ink. Layers were cut with Blueprints 20 Die-namics.

For my final card, I changed up the color scheme.

NPL4_2015jan6

I started with a Primitive White card stock base, then dry embossed Kraft card stock with Background Hearts stencil. I cut a heart off the edge of the panel with Pierced Heart STAX Die-namics and filled the heart opening with Primitive White card stock stamped with Damask Background and Lush Lagoon dye ink. I popped that all up on foam mounting tape after I stamped the “Heart” sentiment with Black Licorice card stock. On a strip of Primitive White card stock I stamped the rest of the sentiment (all from Smitten With You) and added an arrow from last month’s MSTN Go With It Die-namics adhered with my Quickie Glue Pen. I finished off with some enamel dots.

A sentiment from DC Life’s Direction was stamped on the inside with Black Licorice dye ink on layers of Primitive White card stock and Lush Lagoon card stock cut with Blueprints 20 Die-namics.
