You Make the World a Better Place–C4C #164

C4C164_2012nov24

Hi, everyone! It’s that Crazy 4 Challenges time again! Today Joycelyn has challenged us to put a bow on our cards or projects. Works for me! Since I hadn’t had a chance to use MFT’s new Die-namics Dainty Bows, I fired up the old Vagabond and cut it out. So pretty in metallic gold!

I’m also using a corrugated paper layer cut with my Die-namics Fishtail Flags STAX and my focal image was done with my Die-namics Vertical Greetings Die & Stamp Set. Some stitching and some pearly flourishes finish it off.

Here’s the inside with a sentiment from More Essential Sentiments:

Here are the Die-namics dies I used for this card:

And that's it! Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team has for you!

THEN, you know what to do--we'd love to have you come along and play with us. Just do your thing with the challenge and link it to Mr. Linky on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. Please link directly to your project. And, if you upload to a public gallery, please use the key word C4C164.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Just a Note

linenrose_2012nov23

Hi, all, here today with a card using some amazing products from the eclectic Paperie store!

I fell in love with Wendy Vecchi’s Art Parts when we did the blog hop with Wendy’s products and I have another card using an Art Part today.

My card base is using some lovely paper from Basic Grey’s
Plumeria and is perfect to set off the Wendy Vecchi - Studio 490 - Art Parts Leaves and the Maya Road Vintage Linen Burlap Roses. To color the leaves, first I painted them with my Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber – Lettuce. Then I went over it, swiping with my Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber - Lake Mist. After that dried, I sponged the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and my Inkssentials Foam Blending Tool. After I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of my card base, I adhered the leaves, then the linen rose.

In he upper right corner you can see I added some paper piercing for a little balance. I used my
Idea-ology - Tool Design Ruler 12" and my Tonic Studios Retractable Craft Pick for this.

Very simple but these gorgeous products turn even a simple card into a special one.

And that’s it! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

The Sky’s the Limit–MFTWSC #99

MFTWSC99_2012nov21

Hey there, it’s me, back again with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. You can find the sketch on the MFT blog and also in the MFT forum on SCS, as well as in the weekly newsletter. The Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

MFTWSC99

I can’t believe I didn’t make a Christmas card, LOL! I should have, but I was inspired by this sketch to do something else.

First of all, I worked on my card base, using
Kraft card stock, Paver Red card stock, patterned paper, and some Nightshift Blue grosgrain ribbon and hemp cord for the vertical element. I cut out the balloons using my Die-namics Up, Up and Away dies from Kraft card stock, stamped the images from Inspired by Up, Up and Away, and then cut more balloons from patterned paper. I snipped off the bottoms and “paper pieced” the balloons, then popped them up on foam tape. The sentiment element was cut using my Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome and stamped with a sentiment from the set, then adhered under the blue panel. I finished off with some dark blue Dew Drops and it was done!

Here’s the inside with another sentiment and image from the set:

Peace, Love, Joy–CTD #219

CTD219_2012nov21

Hello there, friends! It’s
Color Throwdown time! This week’s colors were chosen by my BFF, Tammy, and I’m in love! I adore non-traditional Christmas colors and IMO, these are tops in that category!

swatch 219

My card is pretty simple but the bling dresses it up. I was also totally inspired by the inspiration piece Tammy used. So, I cut a frame from silver glitter paper with my Die-namics Designer Labels 1 STAX and popped it up on bits of foam. I cut the ornament from my Die-namics Christmas Ornaments Die Only using Sno Cone card stock and added a silver hanger and some silver cord. The holly leaf is also from Die-namics Christmas Ornaments Die Only and I added some jewels that I colored the color of Bermuda Bay with a Copic marker. I used Sweet Tooth card stock and Steel Gray card stock for my base card and added a Blue Raspberry button under a clear button for another pop of color. The sentiment was stamped with gray ink and is from Clearly Sentimental About Christmas.

Here’s the inside, with another sentiment from the set, along with more Copic-colored jewels:

Season’s Greetings–C4C #163

C4C163_2012nov17

Happy Saturday, peeps! Since it’s Saturday, it’s time for Crazy 4 Challenges! This week Joycelyn is challenging us to make a tag or put a tag on our card. It just so happens I have  a new MFT tag to play with ;-) The just-released Die-namics Decorative Circle Tag STAX makes a gorgeous tag, wouldn’t you agree?

I cut my tag base out with Kraft card stock and added a layer of subtly patterned paper before adhering another new favorite: Die-namics Winter Wreath. OMGosh! I love this thing! I used two colors of green and a new Paver Red card stock bow, then I added some twill and a hemp cord-tied Paver Red button at the top and popped it up on foam. I added some Paver Red Grosgrain ribbon, some hemp cord, and the sentiment, from Clearly Sentimental About Christmas, which was stamped on Sweet Tooth card stock that had been cut out with the larger flag from my Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon, also popped up on foam. To finish it off, I added some clear Dew Drops in the upper right corner.

Here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set:
