Blessed–Color Throwdown Challenge #461

CTD461_2017sep20

Hi everyone! Welcome to a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week our hostess is Amy Rysavy and her colors are inspired by this gorgeous Fall scene.

swatch461

Love these colors, don’t you?? I was so inspired by them that I went hog-wild, LOL! I started by creating my birch trees and adhered them to a card base. Then I cut the oval and popped it up with foam tape for dimension with a strip of patterned paper along the bottom of the base.

CTD461_2017sep20b

Then I stamped up the pumpkins and the fall leaves, fussy cut them out, and colored them with Copics. I adhered the die cut foliage, then the pumpkins, and stuck in the smaller leaves to fill it out. The die cut sentiment was cut three times from black card stock, adhered together, and also popped up on foam. I really love this card.

And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the
Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD461 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd461 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented September Guest Designer, Tammy Hershberger!

I created another little outdoor scene for this card using Scenic Snow Globe Die-namics. I set the snow globe into the overall card design by extending the snow on either side of the dome shaker pouch with Snow Drifts Die-namics and more trees from the kit.

cardkitrelease_2017sep19b

The sentiment was stamped on the Cherry Wood Adhesive Backed Sheet Snow Globe base with Black Licorice hybrid ink. This ink stamps on the wood just great! Dye ink will not, I found—it will follow the grain of the wood and blur but the hybrid ink did not. Before the dome was assembled I added some Diamond Dust, closed it up, and popped the whole thing up on foam tape on the card base.

And there you have it! I hope I’ve given you some ideas for using YOUR Snow Globe Card Kit. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!

You know I like to think outside the box so today I decided to do a little Christmas décor arrangement inside my snow globe. To start, I stamped some Sweet Tooth card stock with some foliage from In Bloom with Sour Apple dye ink then cut it with Snow Globe Die-namics. I created my scene using Birthday Candles Die-namics and Fab Foliage Die-namics, added Diamond Dust to the dome shaker pouch, and closed it up.

cardkitday2_2017sep19b

The card front was popped up on foam tape on the card base, to which I added a strip of Birthday Blowout patterned paper and a strip of Black Licorice card stock. For the sentiment, I colored some white card stock with Copics to look like gold or brass, stamped the sentiment from Snow Glob Sentiments, and adhered it under the done to finish.

And there you have it for Day Two of
MFT’s September Card Kit Reveal. Snow Globe Card Kit will be available for purchase TONIGHT at 9pm Eastern so don’t be late! I have a feeling this kit is going to sell out fast. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you tonight for the release!

MFT September Card Kit: Snow Globe, Day One

cardkitday1_2017sep18

Hi everyone! What a fun card kit MFT has for September! Snow Globe Card Kit is super adorable, with the cutest dies!!! It will be available for purchase tomorrow night, September 19th, at 9pm Eastern in the MFT Online Boutique. Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for all the details and more samples from the MFT Design Team.

For my card today, I went kind of simple so you could see the details of some of the kit elements better. I’m using a Stone Gray card stock base, then a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock that I dry embossed with Snowfall Stencil after I cut it with Snow Globe Die-namics. I built my scene using Scenic Snow Globe Die-namics on After Midnight card stock after splattering it with some watered down white craft paint.

cardkitday1_2017sep18b

Before assembling my card front, I added some Diamond Dust to the Dome Shaker Pouch, then put it all together after tying around some baker’s twine. The sentiment, from Snow Globe Sentiments, was stamped with Versamark on Black Licorice card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder then popped up on foam tape. The “base” of the snow globe was cut from Cherry Wood Adhesive Backed sheet for a real wood look.

How fun is that, right? There is SO much you can do with this kit and we’ll be showing you some ideas tomorrow and at release tomorrow night. Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back tomorrow!

You Whaled It–MFT Color Challenge #77

MFTCPC77_2017sep14

Hi, all, I'm back with the latest MFT Color Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s color combo: Stone Gray, Blueberry, Berrylicious, and Bubblegum. All of the details about the color challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

OK, I admit it. I was freaked out a little by this color combo, LOL!! All kinds of ideas flashed through my mind but none of them settled until this one. And I love how it turned out!

Since we don’t have Stone Gray ink I used
Cement Gray dye ink to sponge the top part of my sky and Bubblegum dye ink for the bottom. Then I sponged more Bubblegum dye ink through Radiating Rays Stencil and added a Bubblegum card stock “sun” cut with Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics.

MFTCPC77_2017sep14

Next was to add Ocean Waves Die-namics cut from Berrylicious card stock with the sentiment from Ocean Pals Stamp Set and popped upon foam mounting tape, and Puffy Clouds Die-namics cut from Sweet Tooth card stock and sponged with Bubblegum dye ink. The whale, from Ocean Pals Stamp Set was stamped on No-Line Coloring Card Stock, colored with Copic Markers, and added into the scene with foam tape.

And there you have it! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the
MFT Challenge Blog. You have the chance to win a $20 in MFT voucher. One winner is chosen at random each week!

Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
