It's time to hop and shop! If you got here from Kim's blog, you're good to go, if not, head on back over there since that's the beginning--I don't want you to miss a thing!
OK, let's get going. Tonight I'm showing you Who's That Girl - Well Read. You may remember her from the VIP Package a couple of weeks ago, but she's available on her own starting NOW!
I've had this adorable little "book" box in my alterables stash for a while just waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it--and this is it :)
First I painted it, then covered it with patterned paper. For the cover image, I stamped WTG on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel and, for the most part, paper pieced the entire scene, finishing it off with a little Copic coloring. See the mats it's mounted on? I made them with the brand new Perfect Bracket Edge Die-namics die. I love how this die has multiple "bumps" that allows you to create different size edges--or in this case, mats.
When this box is closed it looks amazingly like a real book, but it actually has a secret drawer that holds a stash of goodies.
Here's the "spine". I embossed the "title" with copper embossing powder and added my initials with the new Wendy Alphabet Set--after all, I "am" the author of *this* book, LOL.
OK, on to the goodies. I used some of MFT's fabulous felt to make a little pouch for a book light. It's finished off with a blanket stitch using embroidery floss and a felt flower cut with the Flower and Leaf Trio Die-namics die.
Having seen all the cute corner bookmarks floating around in blogland recently, I decided to do one for my little gifty box. I again used the Perfect Bracket Edge and Flower Trio Die-namics dies.
Of course a matching gift card holder was in order.
Finally, I threw in a couple of book plates for good measure, using the Framed Greetings Stamp and Die-namics. All sentiments are from WTG - Well Read.
Other MFT products I used are Fossil card stock and the Chocolate Kiss Button Collection.
And, last but not least, this month's Triple Scoop Set is Clearly Sentimental About Books--a perfect companion to WTG - Well Read :)
What's the Triple Scoop, you ask? Simply purchase 3 full sized sets ($15.95 or higher) and receive this FREE set from MFT. (You MUST purchase 3 full sized sets ($15.95 or higher) in order to receive the Triple Scoop Set. It will NOT be added to orders unless 3 full sized sets are purchased.) Two (2) $9 MINI sets qualify as 1 full sized set.
I started to make a card to match the gift set but I decided to do something a little different for this set and use some of MFT's digi paper from the School Collection. I thought this stacked book patterned paper was perfect for these book sentiments. And if you could see my house, you'd think it was the model for the paper, LOL!
I used the Perfect Bracket Edge and Framed Greetings dies on this, as well. You may have figured out by now that I LOVE Framed Greetings--well, actually I love ALL of the Die-namics dies! They make it so easy! Other MFT products I'm using on this card are Fossil, Red Hot, and Hot Fudge card stock and the Rolled Flower Die-namics die. The leaves were made with the Flower and Leaf Trio die.
Here's the inside with another sentiment.
Now, I've gabbed enough, but I have one more thing to tell you before I send you along to the next stop on the hop--the fabulously talented Jen! There's blog candy somewhere along the hop--but we're not tellin' where, so to have the best chance of winning it, you might want to leave a comment on every designer's blog :)
