MFT September Hop and Shop!

Woohoo! It's time to Hop and Shop!!! The September Release is ready for purchase in the MFT Boutique NOW!

I'm fortunate to be showing you the next set in the Inspired By Flowers series, Set 3. I'm doing three more cards for the set I'm building that will be a Christmas gift for a very special person. I don't want to spill the beans 'cause she might be reading my blog ;-) You can see the purse that I altered to present all the cards in HERE.

First up, the waterlily. I have a small water garden and my pink waterlily has been amazing this summer so I used it as inspiration. I have to use a simple layout and minimal embellishments so eventually all twelve cards will fit in the purse. For this card, I used the Little Open Scallop Strip Die-namics die for the border. All of the images were colored with Copic markers.

Here's the inside with a sentiment from the new set and part of another waterlily lightly colored.

Here's the morning glory. I used the Solid Bracket Border Die-namics die on it. This sentiment is from Inspired By Flowers, Set 1. I love how you can mix and match these to find just the sentiment you want.

And the inside.

For the poppy, I went RED :) I know there are other colors for poppies but I always think of them as red. I used the Double Scallop Border Die-namics die for this one. This sentiment is from Inspired By Flowers, Set 2.

And another sentiment from Set 3 for the inside.

And that's it from me! I'm already looking forward to seeing the final set in this series--I know they'll be amazing!

Don't forget that there's Blog Candy hidden on one of the Design Team member's blogs. You might want to comment on every one of them to increase your chances of winning it, KWIM? I thought you did :)

Now you need to go see what the oh-so-talented Eva has to show you. I have reason to believe it's fabulous. Just sayin'...

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge so I hope you drop in for that!

Two Tickets to Paradise - MFT August Release Hop and Shop!!

It’s what you’ve been waiting for! The August release is now live in the MFT Boutique and we’re hoppin’! The hop starts at the MFT Blog, so be sure you start there—you don’t want to miss anything along the way, do you? Nah, I thought not :)

Tonight I’m showing you Inspired By - the Beach, the next set in the lovely and vintage Inspired By… line. Just look at that hammock slung between two palm trees. Could anything look more relaxing? I love how there’s nothing else—your imagination can run wild with whatever is just beyond the horizon. Sigh.

bloghop_2011aug2
I stamped the image on some neutral paper and colored lightly with my Copic markers, then cut it out with the new Tag, You’re It Die-namics and Stamp Set die, distressed the edges a bit, then popped it on on the perfect paper for this vintage look: Graphic 45’s Boardwalk. Two little designs on the paper fit perfectly on the new Just the Ticket Die-namics and Stamp Set die, so I tucked them behind the tag. A little stitching, some black twill, and some black flat back glittery beads finished it off.

And here’s the inside with another sentiment from the set. Wouldn’t mind sitting back in one of these chairs listening to the ocean, either, would you?

MFT July Release Hop and Shop!

It's time! It's time for all the fabulous sets and dies that you've been seeing sneaks of to go live and in the MFT Boutique! It's time to Hop and Shop!!!

If you got here from the amazingly talented Jessie's blog, you're right on track, but if not, you really should head on over to Kim's blog 'cause that's the beginning and I wouldn't want you to miss a thing :)

I'm showing you Inspired by Summer. I love this image with the table and lemonade - so summer-y! And that table--everybody had one of those, right?

I'd been wanting to try one of the Hanging Treat Boxes that my MFT teammate and friend, Christina Fischer, created for SCS - I thought this was a perfect opportunity to give it a try.

Here's the inside with another sentiment from the set.

Another view of the set.

See those flowers? I wanted my flowers to look as much like lemon blossoms as possible, so I did a little research and found that with a little alteration, the Upsy Daisy dies would work. I'm using the smallest and middle sizes for this project.

Simply snip out every other petal and shape them up gently.

Then layer with alternating petals and adhere your center--here I'm using a small yellow button. Isn't it sweet? And very like a lemon blossom, IMO.

In addition, I used Medium Simply Scallops and Well Worn Die-namics dies on this project.

Here are the Copic markers I used.

OK, that's it for me tonight--thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget that someone on the design team is holding some blog candy and if you want to increase your chances of winning, it's a good idea to comment on every design team member's blog. KWIM?

Now you'll want to slide on over to the fabulous Sherrie's blog to see what she's got for you. You know it will be amazing, right? See you there! And I hope I'll see you in just a little while for this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Challenge.

~Supplies~

Paper: Sour Apple, Banana Split, Perfect Paper Panels (MFT); Sweetbay 6 x 6 (Memory Box)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

MFT June Hop and Shop!

It’s here!! MFT’s June Hop and Shop is here!! The hop starts at the MFT blog, so if you just happened upon my post, you should probably head on back over there for the beginning.

Tonight I get to show you Inspired by Flowers (Set 2). This is the second installment of a year-long series of flowers-of-the-month. I’ve done three more cards to add to the set I’ll be working on throughout the year. You can see the original three cards and the altered purse I did to hold them HERE.

This set’s flowers are Lily Of the Valley, daisy, and rose. You’ll notice that I’ve again kept the layouts simple with low profile embellishments so all 12 cards (and envelopes) will fit in my little altered purse.

First up, Lily Of the Valley. I used the new Large Simply Scallops Die-namics die on this one.

The sentiment is from the set, attached to a buttoned up bow. There rest of the design is pretty obvious, I’m thinking. I did use the Open Zig Zag Border Die-namics die for some visual contrast.

For the inside, more zig zags, patterned paper, and a sentiment from the mini set included in the VIP package.

A Million Little Things - MFT May Release Blog Hop and Shop!

Welcome to my stop on MFT's May Blog Hop and Shop! If you got here from the fabulous Dawn's blog, you're right on track, if not, you really should head on over the the MFT blog 'cause that's where the whole thing begins :)

OK, back and on track? Excellent. MFT has another awesome release this month. How come I say that every month? Because it's true!! I am simply amazed month after month! Tonight I'm showing you the latest in the Clearly Sentimental line, Clearly Sentimental About Friendship. This set is May's Triple Scoop set. What's a Triple Scoop set, you ask? Well, if you purchase three full-sized sets, this one will go into your cart FREE. Pretty cool, huh? You can get all the details HERE.

OK, on to my card. OMGosh, such sweet sentiments in this set so I decided to go all shabby with it. I stamped the sentiment on some patterned paper after cutting it out with a layer of the new Well-Worn Die-namics set. Another OMGosh on this set of dies. LOVE the shapes!

Then I matted it with the other large die in the set and popped it up on top of a Decorative Doily die cut. Although I pretty much covered it up, I added a strip across the center with the new Scallop Ribbon Die-namics die, stitched around the whole thing, and added my embellishments. Sweet, don't you think? Here's the inside with another sentiment and another Scallop Ribbon strip.

Thanks so much for stopping by! The entire release is live in the MFT Boutique NOW, and I'm sure you'll want to hop on over to the next stop on the hop--the amazing Jessie's blog! Have fun--I'm right behind you!

MFT April Hop and Shop

You've seen the amazing MFT April previews and now it's time to Hop and Shop! If you got here from Julie's blog, you're in the right place. If you just happened upon the hop, you should really double back to the MFT blog 'cause that's where all the goodness starts :)

Tonight I get to show you Inspired By Spring. A gorgeous set with so many possibilities. It - and all the other fabulous sets and Die-namics dies that you've seen previewed over the last few days are available RIGHT NOW!!

I stamped the bird's nest image on a Cream Perfect Paper Panel with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I did the same with the sweet little bird, cut him out, and popped him up on the nest. It's hard to tell from this picture, but I made a little pocked from some patterned paper into which I tucked the sentiment panel--which was cut out with the new Four Point Frame Die-namics die.

You can see that I used the new Open Scallop Doily Die-namics die for the doily that's peeking out from under the bird nest panel, then I tied some hand dyed seam binding around and topped it off with a flower using the new Pretty Posies Die-namics dies.

I used a couple of the same dies for the inside, along with another sentiment from the set.

And here are the Copic markers I used.

Thanks SO much for stopping by! Now you MUST hop on over to see what the oh-so-talented Arlene has for you. I've got reason to believe you'll be WOWed. Oh, and remember there's blog candy hidden on one of the design team members' blogs. For the best chance of winning it, you might want to comment on all of the blogs. Just sayin'...
