Hi, all, it’s time! MFT’s April Release is live! Everything we’ve been showing you for the last five days is available for purchase right now in the MFT Online Boutique!!
I have a couple of cards for you using the just released True Friends stamp set. Both cards are on the CAS side, allowing these fresh and fun sentiments to take center stage. I could not love the size or the font more—perfect for a focal element on any card, but especially on CAS designs.
My first card starts with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next up I stamped Garden Flourish Background (loving this, too!) on Ranger watercolor paper with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder and did emboss resist with Wild Cherry dye ink, Razzle Berry dye ink, and Tangy Orange dye ink by smooshing the ink pads on a craft mat, spritzing with water, and swiping the watercolor paper through it. I used Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics on some Sweet Tooth card stock and some Black Licorice card stock and layered them, then stamped the sentiment from True Friends with Black Licorice dye ink. The hearts were stamped with the same colors I used on the embossed panel and I finished off with a few black enamel dots.
On the INSIDE, I stamped another sentiment from the set along with a few more hearts.
*****
For my second card I did another emboss resist, this time with the sentiment.
I’ve put together a video showing how I did the technique and card construction. You can view it HERE on my YouTube channel or click the button below.
Again, I started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Then I stamped the sentiment on some Ranger watercolor paper with Versamark and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder. Then I smooshed Blueberry dye ink, Lush Lagoon dye ink, and Tropical Teal dye ink on my craft sheet, spritzed with water, and dragged my watercolor paper through it to cover. In real life you can see all the colors but I couldn’t get them to pop out well in the photo. I think you can see the variations, though. After that dried I layered it with some Ranger silver foil card stock and popped it up on the base with foam mounting tape. To finish off I added some silver stars cut from Sun, Moon, & Stars Die-namics and Scattered Stars Die-namics along with a few 6mm metallic silver sequins.
On the INSIDE, I stamped another sentiment from True Friends with Blueberry dye ink.
And that’s it! I hope I’ve given you some ideas for using YOUR True Friends set in some fun ways. Thanks so much for stopping by…and happy shopping!! And don’t forget that MFT will be giving away TWO $100 vouchers—to have a chance to win one, be sure to comment on each of the designers’ blogs—check out the MFT Blog for all the details. Good luck!!
