Thinking of You–Color Throwdown Challenge #526

Hey there, it’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! This week’s hostess is Lisa, who has some cool colors for us to work with.




I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m done with snowflakes for this year, LOL! So I went all Springtime with a butterfly. To begin, I did a watercolor background on Ranger Watercolor paper with Peerless Watercolors, splattered it with some black acrylic ink, stamped the sentiment on the bottom strip with Extreme Black hybrid ink (dye ink with feather on watercolor paper) then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card stock base when it was dry. I’m using an MFT sketch from a while back that I love—so simple and so versatile—so I trimmed off 1/4” and inserted some Black & White Stripes Paper Pack. Often a watercolor wash with warp watercolor paper so I’ve gotten in the habit of backing it with fun foam, which adds dimension and helps to flatten the warp out.



The butterfly is from Fluttering Friend Stamp Set, was stamped with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, colored with Copic markers, and popped up on the card with foam tape. To finish off I’ve added some Sprinkles in the challenge colors.
